Review Kitchen - Chapel Hill

Took the guys in my shop to eat here at the recommendation of my wife, the pickiest eater I’ve known in my entire life (love you! She’s a chef). Got the grilled octopus salad and yellow fin tuna special. It was executed nearly perfectly. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and efficient. Exceptional variety with excellent execution supported by a friendly, professional, staff makes this place a must. We’ll be returning here for sure.

Was disappointed to get hit with a 4% credit card fee when I received the bill. This fee isn't disclosed on their website, front door, or menu, so you're left with the feeling that they're trying to hide it and nickel and dime you. I wonder how many guests even realize they're paying this fee. Also, there's no way they're actually paying 4% to process their credit card transactions - most processors charge 2.5-3%, so either this restaurant doesn't comparison shop or, more likely, they're actually marking up the fee for customers. Given the price point at Kitchen, I don't understand why they don't increase their prices by 4% and then just drop this fee. Either way, the food and service were just ok, but not great, and there are so many good restaurants in the area that there's no reason to go back to a place that tacks on a surprise charge at the end of the night. Just really not a great way to treat customers.

We love the Kitchen. The food is always perfect. The casual but chic bistro ambiance is welcoming. Service is always relaxed but attentive. It is our favorite dinner out.

Great little French bistro hiding in a strip mall. We shared seared octopus, and I got the strip steak with fries 🤤. The food was so good that it made up for the lack luster service. Waiter seemed out of it, but everyone has off days. Again the food was so good it didn't really matter. We'll be back again.

Look, if you haven't been to Kitchen and you've lived here a while... Please treat yourself. You don't need to spend an arm or leg to get the best French bistro experience in the triangle. Take a date. It's superb.

Exceptional cuisine, dining experience, staff, service, knowledge = BRAVO! Rarely do you stumble across a gem-of-a-place like this. Well thought out starters that lead to unique main dishes...all stacking up to stellar. Having the choice of indoor or outdoor seating is a real treat. This caring and generous staff makes sure you feel right at home and are eager to assist in making decisions. *****Secret: The tarte I tried this evening was so deeeeelish I had to buy another one for my lunch tomorrow! My ultimate go-to choice when I'm in town. XOXO

Wonderful little spot. Our food was delicious. The mushroom appetizer special was sooo good. And the apple dessert was perfect. One thing that would be nicer is if they could perhaps close in the kitchen - maybe with glass so the noise from the kitchen doesn’t invade the little dining room.

I've only been here a couple of times for lunch but both times were absolutely delightful! The people are friendly and the food is excellent. You cannot go wrong with the mussels but might I also recommend Croque Madam for a more grown up grilled cheese experience. Also, they have some of the best french fries in the Triangle!

We celebrated our kids wedding anniversary here - We all enjoyed our meals and the service was spectacular as was the special surprise dessert I preordered. I highly recommend this restaurant

One of the best restaurants is chapel hill, everything is superb, owner Sue and staff are very kind accommodating.

Exception French cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. Cozy atmosphere and service that makes you feel like you're family. Great value too. Prices are reasonable. Love this place!

This is a fantastic restaurant that I found via Yelp when I was passing through Chapel Hill recently. The kitchen at The Kitchen is putting out some really great food. Plan a meal there when you're in the area.

Excellent food, wine selection and staff. You can't go wrong here...and the owners are great folks too!

Go early. The place fills up fast, and there's a reason why.
