Review Paradiso At Willow Park - Castro Valley

What a fun course, Redwood Canyon surprised me by its challenge and beauty. Built into an amazing wooded canyon, this lush par 71 was a tight property that really transported you away from the Bay Area. The course was in good shape and the vibe was perfect for a relaxed round of golf but keep an eye on your ball because there are a lot of hazards from large creeks and many creeks. I highly recommend this one if you are in the East Bay.

Great for beginners like me, price was not too bad, beautiful scenery. Wild turkeys and deers with their fawn, roaming around enjoying the nature. Lot’s of golfers were walking. Greens were nicely maintained, fairways were wide, I would probably go again.

Actually, for a public course and the price of golf with a cart, my rating should be a 4 1/2. And I bet you if I had been there once all of the renovations were done (drainage, etc) it would have been a 5. First, and most important for me, the people who golf here are laid back and real. Second, it's not a terribly difficult course. Third, it is well priced. As someone who may have a couple Coors Lights and need to pee at some point, they could use an extra bathroom along the course. It's a great course for the price. End of story. I'm looking forward to golfing there in 2020 when the upgrades are done. Also...if you smoke cigars while golfing...buy them before you get there! I made the mistake...and they dont sell them there (since they are a part of East Bay Regional Parks).

Greens are nice, staff nice, fairways wide. The fairways have some rough patches though. Was cool to see wild turkeys, deer, etc.

I have tried to play this course on 2 separate occasions now and both times the course was in decent shape, a bit muddy but not to bad, the driving range and practice areas are decent enough for what you pay for. The pace of play is atrocious though, I have yet to be able to play a full 18 holes on a weekday or weekend due to how slow the pace of play is at this course, when I'm on a course for 6+ hours and I'm still not though 12 holes that is where even I cant take it anymore and I just leave. Asking to play through or asking one of the employees if they could encourage the slower groups to play a bit faster or let the smaller groups play through is usually met with a hard no and dirty remarks. I think I will be skipping this course for the time being maybe with time this course and staff will improve.

Beautiful place. Lots of wild life. Nice staff who offered to drive us around in the golf cart to see the place

The is a hidden gem in the hills of Castro Valley. It is one of Touch Tone management company many courses they manage. The secluded very walkable course is full of wildlife and a joy to relax while enjoying the fairly challenging course. Price alot less than you may expect...

Played the course yesterday. Staff has done a great job maintaining the greens and fairways. Cart paths need some pot hole work but the playing surfaces are in excellent condition. The drainage systems constructed in the last couple of years have really made a positive difference. Great course, reasonable price.

Service is terrible and the food was just as bad. O not to mention the waiter added 18% to our check and it was only 2 of us. He didn't deserve a dime! Won't be eating here again
