I better get there quick, and so should you, because even though they are open from April to January, my Internet sleuthing tells me the Olympia Dairy Bar is up for sale!(BOOOO sez your hostess!) Let’s all cross our fingers that the future owners keep things as is.
Not that they DON'T deserve a five-star rating, its just that if I did give a five-star rating it would have you believe this place is flawless (which no eatery ever is). However...
I used to enjoy the burgers here back in the days before Lapp took over, but I can't say I do anymore. While their pulled pork, hotdogs and epic fries are dangerously good, their hamburgers are not. The burger patty itself seems too gritty, dry and, I'm sad to say, tasteless. Unlike back in the day their burgers are nothing that would make you want another and another. But don't let that hinder you from stopping in and enjoying a nice lunch. The place is still well kept and inviting and still holds that age-old nostalgia of Americana. The staff are friendly (actually more friendly than the previous owners. I didn't feel guilty asking for more napkins. Ha!) and make you feel welcome. Can't ask for a better roadside attraction.
On a side note: They need to repaint the big billboard, just sayin'. :)
Not a lot of people were eating ice cream a few people where they were having Burgers and Fries wasn't paying attention I just left Cowtown eating chicken so we stopped by for dessert butter pecan ice cream and soft serve sprinkles great service lovely day stopping grab a snack enjoy the day before it gets cold and they shut it down have a nice day
BBQ Pulled Pork is AMAZING!
Had a cheeseburger and fries both were good. Nice spot to grab some food from
Our meals were tasty and served hot at one of the back picnic benches. We enjoyed Cowtown Rodeo afterwards. Good family night.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Always has been delicious.
