Review The Tree House Cafe - Carmel

We spotted this place when walking around and it looked so appealing with seating on a rooftop and beautiful lights all around! We came on labor day weekend with no reservations and they kindly fit us in a table for two! The service was great (family run) and food was delicious (the lamb kabob cooked on medium was perfect and it was so tasty)! We sat on the rooftop and it was beautiful with the flowers, lights, and Carmel’s amazing weather!! I just wish the table was scooted slightly away from the ledge where I saw a spider. We ordered the clam chowder (very good) and the lamb kabob plate (a healthy and tasty balance). Their bread with olive oil was also very yummy! Pricing is pretty expensive (but most of the restaurants are here). We appreciated how friendly the staff was and they asked how our meal was afterwards as well.

Wonderful service, food and ambiance. The whole menu looked delicious!!! Wish we lived closer, we definitely would become regulars!!!

Food was good and service was OK but a bit slow. Maybe because of the crowd. We had Thai food and Mediterranean starters and both cuisines were to the mark. Red Thai curry was a bit too sweet for my taste but the others in the group found it OK so opinion on that is divided. I am not saying I didn't like it but I would have relished it more if it were a little bit less sweet.

Stopped by this cute Treehouse when we were on their way to LA. Probably one of the best impulsive decisions we've ever made, as we just went in because of its look. We were sitting at the outdoor dining area, like the patio of our own houses, nice and easy, a very nice way to appreciate the ambience of Carmel. Food was food, but the services were just awesome, you'll be treated as VIP.

A nice cafe in Carmel serving California food variety with local wines and a nice balcony view. The dishes are done well, very nicely made gyros and osso bucco. The bread was good too. Looking forward to trying other items in their menu the next time I pop into Carmel.

Great ambiance in this place. The food is quite pricey for what it is, but still tastes good nonetheless. The yellow Thai chicken curry and the tiramisu were tasty. Our server was amazing as well.

Went on a fall evening. They had area warmers and a nice atmosphere. Ate soup, tzatziki, yellow curry, and bolongaise. Mostly good, well crafted flavors, but the curry was kinda salty like it was scraped from the bottom of the batch. Bolongaise had tons of veggies like it was part ratatouille. Pretty yummy otherwise!

The food was delicious, but I’d say the service was what gave this cute restaurant my 5 star review. I treated myself to a dinner alone with my current book, but I never felt alone because my needs were always met and were never overlooked. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They served me a delicious free bread and oil/balsamic dip, but it was seriously the best dip like that I've ever had. The wine and the meal were awesome as well. Service was quick and the owner and waiter were both very friendly and helpful. The inside and outside are both very pretty.

Food was good! If you like mushrooms & truffle (but not overpowering), then the Mushroom Truffle Ravioli is for you! Greek platter wasn’t bad but not the best I’ve had. Beer was amazing! I would recommend

This is a great Mix & Mediterranean restaurant. You won't be disappointed. Their Gyros sandwich is the best I've had and I just hit back from Turkey, the country famous for Gyros and this was as good if not better!! The people are super nice. You can't go wrong with this place.

Got the gyro platter. The gyro meat was a bit too dry to the point where it was like jerky at the ends. Other than that the meat was flavorful and the salad was refreshing. The menu was also very interesting - there was mediterranean food, but also western things like tuna melts and burgers. Overall decent restaurant!

Awesome place to catch a meal. Great Ambiance. Had the Ravioli and Thai Red Curry and both were amazing. One of the best Ravioli I have had.

Our flight was delayed and we were exhausted and arrived in Carmel later than expected and had little/no food options open since EVERYTHING closes so early. We called and asked if they could squeeze us in right before closing and they said it wasn't an issue at all. We arrived and were seated, but there was an issue and we didn't speak to anyone for a while so we asked for some assistance. They were incredibly apologetic and addressed every concern and question like total professionals. Our food was out in less than 10 minutes and we hadn't even finished the world's greatest pita by the time it arrived! We had Greek salads with gyro and I have to say that it was some of the best I've ever had and I order it everywhere. The meal wasn't heavy, but super filling and the baklava was fresh and just the right amount of sweet. I wish we would have had the chance to eat here again during our stay. Service and food were nothing short of fantastic!

The minutes we walked in we knew this place was going to be good. The service was amazing! We sat outside with the heated lamps. Food was fresh and the ravioli was amazing! My wife had the seafood platter and it was plentiful

Fantastic restaurant with an outdoor seating area! Food is delicious but it can be a little on the pricey side. At the time, it was $42 for a seafood paella and $27 for sea bass, and around mid 20s for pasta dishes lamb Bolognese and vegetable pasta. Service was great, servers were friendly. One of Carmel's beautiful quaint restaurants that's worth a check!

The service was fantastic. While I don’t know if we were served in the normal way, we had multiple people coming to our table and helping us. Food was great. I highly recommend the yellow Thai curry. Also, if you like olives, the olive appetizer was amazing.

This one of the top notch restaurants i have ever been too. First, the sevice was second to none. The place had been nooked, however they made a spot for my fiance and i on the patio. The patio was layed out beautifully with light music to add to the tranquil setting. Second, the food was amazing. The taste was out of this world. The food bursted every taste bud and melted in your mouth. Did i mention service? And fast service? They know how to satisfy a customer in every way, paying close attention to every detail. My hats are off to you, my friends at Treehouse cafe!!

Nice variety on the menu. Food was very tasty & dish looks lovely. Wine list looks amazing even though I couldn't have a glass since I have to help hubby drive back home. Accommodating to our two children who shared a good portion Greek dish, since burgers are only served on their lunch menu. All our tummies are happy. Thank you Treehouse Cafe. A must visit when in Carmel.

I really enjoyed the experience. It was a beautiful day in Carmel, so we sat on the patio. The wait staff was excellent, and the food was very good. I had the Calamari, and my husband has the pesto chicken sandwich. Since it was my birthday, the staff was kind enough to comp us a dessert. It was a fabulous lemon tart pie with whipping creme and sprinkled with chocolate. Yummy!

My family of 3 stumbled upon this place for lunch yesterday. The menu had something to satisfy just about anyone. Their olive oil & bread is a must have! Sit outside if you can. The only thing I would recommend as a mom of a young child is that you offer a dish similar to macaroni & cheese and a grilled cheese.

We have always had a delicious meal and a relaxing time at The Treehouse Cafe! The outdoor patio is the best place to be on a sunny afternoon!

Loved the outdoor seating, cosy atmosphere without feeling cramped and excellent friendly service. The very cheerful waiter split a lasagne order for our two children and said he'd bring more if it wasn't enough for them! The food (chicken kebabs and pesto chicken sandwich) was great, plenty of options and very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!

The place is awesome . We love the outside patio and the owners are great guys to hangout and talk to . Plus the wine pours are very generous and the food is amazing . If I could leave six stars I would !!

They had all my favorite foods on the menu! Italian, Greek, and Thai! The staff was warm, friendly, and efficient. Great food and experience!

My favorite lunch place in Carmel. The food is delicious however it is the staff that makes it outstanding, shout out to Stoyan and Francisco who provided amazing service.

This was such a wonderful experience. The ambience and the friendliness of the staff was excellent. Food was excellent as well. Go here when you’re in Carmel. Do not pass this up.

Don't order the Grilled Sea Bass...the menu stated it is Chilean Sea Bass and both the waiter and chef claimed it was Chilean...I know Chilean and it was not. Even told the waiter to tell the chef and the restaurant did not compensate. It's false advertising...the fish was regular sea bass!

Friendly staff, delicious food... 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‘S 👌🏻

A cute terrace restaurant overlooking the picturesque streets of Carmel. The menu has a lot of options including Mediterranean food. I tried the pesto chicken sandwich and 2 desserts. The mango cheesecake is a success

CLIMB UP TO CARMEL’S TREEHOUSE CAFÉ…
We had heard allot about the Tree House Café in Carmel (but it’s all very objective) some good and not-so-good things. So, we decided, why not give it a go. The results are in and we enjoyed ourselves enormously. We arrived on a Friday night - early (around 6:30) the outside patio only had one table left – we were in luck. The sun was setting, the air was crisp and the place had a nice ‘feel’ about it. We were immediately greeted with great service – and that level of service never let up. The waiters were attentive and there for every request. We began with a Bruschetta Tomato Appetizer (basil, garlic, olive oil over toasted bread). Pretty standard but also impressive. Our main courses consisted of Gyros Platter (seasoned lamb and beef grilled over saffron rice and Greek salad). It had just the right portions with just the right tang. I had a fanciful dish of Bolognese Pasta (fresh linguini, homemade meat sauce and parmesan). It seems that the shop next store makes all the pasta and provides them with the best of the best. We agree. We skipped dessert – we were too full for any sweets. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced. On the “Tommy B Restaurant Rating Scale” from “A” to “F” Tree House Cafe gets an “A” – we are going back – maybe next week!!!

We were in town for some vacation, and we couldn't get into the restaurant we wanted to go to. A lady at a wine shop recommended us to this place. The terrace sets a great atmosphere, and we (group of 6) had great service and the food was very good.

Charming terrace but the food is so so and service very slow

-----28 Dec, 2014-----

Service very slow, food is ok. Any how the setting is adorable! For example I asked for lemonade and was brought Pepsi
