Review Village Corner Bistro - Carmel

Eric Broockman
We’ve visited many times in the past w our dog - sitting out on the patio. Always great. It has been a few years; back again - and still as good as ever. Very extensive choice of breakfasts along with a wide selection of creative variants of all of the classics. The village corner has been a fav of many celebs and is quintessential Carmel. Luv this place.

Had a lovely brunch with family visiting from out of town. We can't make reservation it's well worth putting your name on the list and waiting for your turn. Loved the eggs benedict omelet and belt

I came here on a whim and it turned out pretty good. There was a slight wait, it was the Saturday morning rush. The staff is very friendly and willing to customize your order. The food took a bit to come out, I'm guessing because they were busy on that Saturday morning rush. The food is very well presented. However, the place is a bit small and crammed . I would recommend breakfast food.

Great breakfast spot. Great outdoor patio with a fire pit. Classic breakfast menu. Wonderful staff who already knows our drink order (two Bloody Mary and two hot chocolate) 2 adults and two kids. Dog friendly on the patio. Wonderful Carmel-by-the-Sea experience. Highly recommend for a casual breakfast.

Great little place for breakfast. Staff was super great and food was delicious. We had a group of 9 so they accommodated us nicely. Highly recommend.

Bistro with beautiful patio seating. The food was delicious with decent vegetarian options on the menu. Must try the Avocado Toast and Fries. The best fries in the town. The breakfast is only served till 11:30 am if you want to enjoy some waffle, pancakes and French toasts. There is quite a bit of wait on weekends.

A pretty good dog-friendly restaurant in Carmel. Their burger and fries were cooked perfectly. I also liked their roasted artichoke special. Service was friendly and we didn't wait long for food. Prices were high as expected considering the location. I'd come back if I'm back in Carmel.

This was by far my favorite little restaurant in Carmel. The ambience was wonderful and service was great. The outside seating was very peaceful and inviting. The food tasted high quality and was very delicious. They were able to substitute ingredients due to allergies and I had no issues. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice spot to eat in Carmel! I will also be coming again:)

I love this place! The crab ravioli is divine and my husband said that the burgers are the best he has ever eaten. The service is amazing - the best anyone could ever ask for - prompt and friendly. One can't leave without eating dessert; my favourite is the olallieberry pie...makes the meal complete!

Wonderful dog friendly restaurant. Even in light rain the covered patio keeps you dry. Toasty heaters too. Loved our lunch. Wait staff attentive and friendly. We will be back!

No trip down from San Jose is complete without one meal here. Sunday morning breakfast with our Dog out on the patio was just outstanding. Good food, excellent service. Highly recommend especially if you are traveling with your pet.

We ate there for the first time on Friday night. Wonderful atmosphere and the food was delicious. I had the French Dip sandwich which was delicious. My husband had the grilled meatloaf (loved it!) and our friends had the meatballs and the porkchops (loved them both). We are locals and will definitely be back!!

CARMEL’S VILLAGE CORNER…A MUST TO ADD TO YOUR DINING EXPERIENCE…

The local Village Corner Restaurant was recently ‘taken over’ by the former chef from the local Basil Restaurant. With that in mind, we had to give a try – and we’re glad we did. Over the years, The Village Corner has always been a reliable place for a simple breakfast or lunch, but now it has taken on a larger charge – to become a Bistro offering some excellent dishes with a more eclectic flare. We arrived and were seated by this fabulous fire pit – perfect for a winter night and very easy to keep warm. We began with some local wine (and they have a very extensive list), calamari and topped it off we will burger. The timing was a bit off, the appetizer and burger arrived at the same time, but everything was cooked to perfection. While the place changed hands a few months ago, they are still in some growing pains, but definitely a place to return in the very near future. On the “Tommy B Restaurant Rating Scale” from “A” to “F” the Village Corner in Carmel gets a futuristic “B+”.

Owner not nice. Dealing with the hostess/owner was not good. She was rude. It appears others patrons have had similar experiences.

It's so, so. And don't ever try their Greek Gyro wrap - it is not even close to the receipt (some fried meet peaces), not tasty, and old meat.
Amy
Wonderful staff, food and ambience. Highly recommend.

Appetizers. We stopped bbt for a quick snack and was pleasantly surprised. We had the calamari and lobster ravioli. I would recommend the ravioli to everyone.
If you can sit in the sheltered patio as you can watch the happenings on the street. No need to worry about being cold as the heaters make it very comfortable.

Been coming here for years and it's one of my favorite breakfast spots. Great location, great food, and staff too. It will be missed as we are moving to Florida

They ruined the patio! This used to be a charming patio oriented place with Ol food bit great oudoors. The have built some HUGE framwork for a sliding roof ( so not Carmel) that it changed the whole vibe. It intimidating instead of welcming. Food and service has taken a hit too. No one seems in charge. Waiters talking in Spanish whichy GF understands and she turned red.

Efficient, friendly but brusque staff. Average food - not over the top delicious but "good". Beet salad had a but too much venegar, but the gyro was tasty. Good outdoor seating.

My favorite diner entree is the Homemade Lobster Ravioli wit black mussels and succulent Jumbo Prawns in a full flavored champagne cream sauce.

It's all about the atmosphere here. I strolled around Carmel all morning for a rejuvenating walk, meandering into about seven varying coffee shops and breakfast cafes. Upon walking into this one, I was met with a breeze of cozy, warm and inviting air, a g
