Take a Trip Down Memory Lane. This is what bars were like a few decades ago, and thank the Lord there are a few still left. Nice folks and cold beer. This place anchors Carmel in the real world.

For the guy saying Bruce (the owner) is an asshole, he's only reciprocates how he is treated! I moved to Carmel from Florida in 2009, and have become a regular there. I love the place! Bruce is awesome! Sara and Gennifer ROCK behind the bar! Great drinks, awesome service, good times and laughs. It's like a family there. There have been numerous times I've had too much to drink and I'd a cab is unavailable, they have given me rides home. For people like myself who have no family here, they're like family to me. They have thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and the girls busy their butts off. It's like the 'Cheers' of Carmel. Great personalities equal great tips. Call it a dive bar, but it's an all around good time and perfect prices. It feels good to walk in and see regulars and people know you by name (although could just mean I'm an alcoholic...lol) overall, they treat you like a friend. Hearing people knock this place, were obvious morons to deserve that kind of treatment. "Treat others how you expect to be treated"
Good Times. I have to agree...whoever this guy is that wrote that review is a complete moron. I asked and there are two simple rules in the bar: No backwards hats and No arm wrestling. I love the place. OTT has a very homey feel that keeps drama out. Definitely worth going to if you're new in town or you live close. I'll be back!
So apparently the previous reviewer A Brown is a real d-bag. First of all Detour and Fox and Hound are about as bad as it gets. Old Town is a great dive bar and if you've never been there before you should. The owner, Bruce is as friendly as can be as long as you follow his rules...he is a stickler about hats being backwards but seriously its not 1992 anymore...who wears their hat backwards? All you need to know about this place is that for being in downtown Carmel don't expect it to be the superficial hoity-toity places you might be used to. This a bar where what you see is what you get and when you're there with friends and good drinks, what more do you need?
It's a classic dive bar in Carmel. It is clean, and the service is excellent. They have pool, darts, pull tabs and a jukebox. There's a limited food menu, and the food is good for what it is. Smoking is allowed inside.

We stopped coming to old Town for a long time because of the "vibe" We decided to give it 1 more shot. So glad we did! Tasha breathes life into this place! What she did for PRIDE was nothing less than perfect! Do your Thang girl. You were made to shine and that's what you do! As long as you are here, we will be here every Sunday.
One of the few places you can still smoke inside. Drinks are pretty cheap. Not a big place, some space to sit outside. Pool table, but hard to play if crowded. Wide age range on weekends. Quality entertainment the other night...not just one but two chick fights.
I can count on one hand how many actual bars I have been in during my life, so I do not have much to compare it to. The bar was small, not too busy. The bathroom was clean. We played pool and the table was well kept. The bar tender was friendly.

Bruce (the owner) IS THE MAN! Local watering hole, been here for forever and a day. Smoking is allowed inside, which most bars prohibit. They have 1 pool table and a couple arcade machines (golf games) and a Jukebox. Perfect location. Smack dab in the middle of downtown Carmel. Bruce is always there getting to know all of his guests and making sure we are having a great time!
Great little hole in the wall spot with an old pool table and a couple electronic dart boards. The downside for me is that you can smoke inside and it is a small place so the smoke is unavoidable. Give it a try if you like older bars and good bartenders.
Great Old school Bar - met owner Bruce and his wife and had great conversation - reminds me of small FL keys bars we used to go to on weekends - no frills just a bar, drinks, cold beers, pool table and interesting people from all over... Not fancy, you will smell of smoke - but really cool place that is the old school Bar. . I understand why so many people have almost a cult following of this place. It's been around forever - the owner is cool and laid back, and it breaks from the rest of the downtown carmel in its focus. Five stars for being independent and what they are... chilled shots, great beer - I had Zombie Dust on tap - which is always awesome - and just a great old school Bar in carmel downtown. Thanks to them for great outing and memories from younger years in the FL Keys.
