Excellent food service was good staff very nice, our table was not cleaned between courses (crumbs and water on table) this is why 4 stars this should be done as a matter of course. But we still enjoyed it.

Fine dining at its best. Went for lunch with friends. 10 intricate and well thought out courses and 3.5 hours of great conversation. The food is exquisite. I understand that the menu changes daily along with their wine recommendations per course. The food is locally sourced with the vegetables coming fresh from nearby Netherby Hall walled garden. They have their own Sommelier to to talk you through the wine choices. We took our time and drinks were flowing. The bill was approx £140 per head, which sounds a lot but when you break it all down was good value for money. Service was excellent and attentive. The building it self is a modern take on a classic gastro pub. Beautifully decorated with high end finishing. Ample parking, beer garden and free WiFi for all guests (which you’ll need). The views from the conservatory are lovely looking out over the Cumbrian countryside. We didn’t stay the night but did manage a sneaky peak at the accommodation. All high end modern furnishing and fittings and the beds looked very inviting after the 10 course lunch!! Would highly recommend.

Just a 5 minute drive from Longtown the Inn is close to the Scottish border. No longer selling cask ales I had the able substitute of Bowness Bay Steamer IPA. The taster menu including the added British Island cheese plate was incredible. Particular highlight was the Cumbrian Shorthorn with Sweetbread, Peas and Wild Garlic. Be sure to stay for the Petit Fours even if you don’t fancy a tea or coffee; they are amazing.

We have visited The Pentonbridge Inn many times as we live nearby. The location is fantastic with lots of parking and great views all around. The staff are really professional and very friendly which makes it an ideal place to go to especially when it's a nice peaceful quality meal or drink you are wanting. Great place all round.

We had a fabulous meal, every one of the 7 courses was beautifully presented, perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. My wife is pescatarian and the 2 dishes containing meat were replaced with plates which were at least their equal. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was a step up from the norm, with the same standards of presentation and flavour as dinner. A great way to break the journey south from Scotland!

5 course lunch menu was fantastic. Location on a frosty January day was beautiful. My partner is vegetarian and they put together a menu for her which looked amazing and not at all a compromise. I'd normally go veggie myself but the website has info on where they source their meat and fish, which is a rare and good thing. Great value considering the quality of the food and drink being served.

Great 5 course tasting lunch. Enjoyed every course. Just the right amount of food. Very quiet in restaurant (just 2 tables if 2) but enjoyed chatting with the adjacent table which probably wouldn't have been able to do if the restaurant has been busy. Would definitely go again.
