Sam really great person he has the best gyros in the business he always puts extra meat on them lot of times he gives me a free soda with my order I highly recommend eating there I order a few gyros he makes the cucumber sauce fresh everyday

Chicken Bacon Swiss Sandwich, Mushrooms, Pizza Puff, Deluxe Gyro Plate pictured below. All food was good (I don't prefer these kind of fried shrooms *I miss El Greccos*)was done in 15 mins after order placed, and always friendly experience upon pickup. Thanks for being Awesome Sam's. 🙂👍🍽

Not really sure what happened because I’ve heard nothing but good things about this place but unfortunately that was not my experience. It was truthfully some of the worst food I’ve ever had. Three of us ordered from there and none of us were even willing to eat our food. The “chili cheese” fries looked and tasted like they had canned dog food dumped on them and were completely soggy and inedible. And the grilled chicken sandwich was the driest piece of meat I’ve ever had.

Absolutely delicious both times I tried. first time was the Sam's Big Burger and French Fries and the other time I got a beef Gyro and Mozz Sticks. Definitely my new favorite place to get food from.

Has been the best gyro in Carbondale for years. Authentic worn out Greek middle eastern third world atmosphere but I take out anyway and the food is fantastic so who cares.

$9 nachos? It's canned nacho cheese poured over some stale chips. Worst food I've had in Carbondale. What a joke

WOW!! Not only is this going to be the best food you'll ever experience, also the owner is one of the kindest humans that exist!!
Honestly, do yourself a favor and at least try the gyro cheeseburger! It is a spiritual experience that will have you talking about it (and thinking about it) until you get to eat it again.

You cannot call Sam's Café a hidden gem because it's right there at the corner of College and Illinois. However, it is truly a gem. Fast friendly service and tasty food. Besides gyros (what I normally get), they have something called a stroke: a gyro meat cheese burger with bacon - and that's the base level. From there it's a heart attack, death wish, quadruple bypass and... There are a couple more above that. The stroke with onion rings filled me up.
