This place is AMAZING. I've never had portuguese food before, but the quality of food and level of execution was on another level. Me and a friend got takeout - i got the Bacalhau á zé Do Pipo, and my friend got the Mariscada. The salted cod was crisp on the outside and so tender and juicy on the inside. I typically don't enjoy cod as i find it often too lean and overcooked, but this has made me reevaluate that all. It was topped with a delicious remoulade too. The bacalhau also came with really good mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, olives, and two pieces of bread. The bread seemed slightly tough, but still was good. Portions are huge too, probably 2-3 meals for a single entree. Worth the price. I highly recommend.

Really good food and service. Sangria was a little bland not really recommended. The bacalhua was great and so was the appetizer fritters made with it. The mussels were ok. A little small and not that flavorful.

We were a group of 5, curious about Portuguese cuisine, who ordered just 3 dishes for lunch and shared (servings are big, just saying!). We ordered the paella, bacalhau a gomes de sa, and carne de porco alentejana. We didn't like the paella but the bacalhau (cod) and pork dishes were truly excellent (and made up for the quite disappointing paella). It seemed like the paella lacked flavor and the flavors didn't mature in the dish. I'd eat here again still! The wait for our food was longer than average.

I wanted to love this place, but the food just missed the mark. The paella and bread were disappointing. I would go back one more time because they have a lot on the menu, and maybe there’s something they do better.

I cannot run out of superlatives to describe my dining experience at Portugalia in Cambridge. The food, the wine, and the sevice. Let's break it all down. This is the quintessential mom and pop experience. The staff was very attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu. Many of them are Portuguese so they're sharing part of their culture with you. The staff answered all of our questions and provided solid suggestions. They treated us like royalty. We bought a solid bottle of Portuguese wine for only $22. We then split an amazing clam appetizer with chouriço which blended so nicely together. After that, we devoured our seafood main courses. I had la mariscada (all kinds of seafood in a bouillabaisse). It was $24 and could easily be shared between two people. The restaurant has not jacked up its prices as we deal with record inflation. So you can expect a quality, filling meal with a nice Portugese ambiance without spending a fortune.

It's incredible to understand the history of this restaurant and the roots. It's what you read or learn at Ellis Island. It's wonderful to see the integrity of the Portuguese roots instilled and not compromised. This restaurant doesn't buckle to trends that come and go. It's steadfast and stands by its authentic roots and it shows in the flavors of their food. For me, when I visit, it will always be linguica. Give me a plate, some bread and leave me be. The caldo verde--just like my grandmother's. I have never had a bad meal or service here.

Randomly came to this place when we were in the area. Figured you can't go wrong with Portugese food, and we were right. The place was quiet up front, but in the back had some sort of party going on. Our waitress was fast and polite. Food came out quick and very flavorful. It had that "made at home" kind of taste. Glad we found this place so we can come back again in the future.

Absolutely Horrible! The first thing I told the waiter was that I have a serve TOMATO ALLERGY! I ordered the Camaraoa Chico (description: shrimp in beer sauce). When the food came out it was obvious it was in a tomato based sauce and luckily I didn't attempt to eat it. For an entree I ordered the Bife a Portugalia, and the meat was over cooked with a rubbery texture, even the lemon wasn't fresh. The decor is outdated and the service is sub-par. In conclusion, I would never go back again!
