Everyone who thinks Yesterdog in GR has the best hot dogs in town clearly has not been here. The service and friendliness of the staff is spectacular. It's an adorable little spot and the root beer is fantastic!
Delicious hot dogs, nice ice cold root beer, and a variety of other good stuff., Worth the drive. Great staff. Try it. You'll like it. One of my favorites.

Great selection of Hot Dogs and a huge selection of beverages. They have Fruity ice teas, italian sodas, Shakes, Root Beer Floats, Old Fashioned Homemade Root Beer. Ice Cream, Cones, Sundaes, Banana Split. Friendly staff, great place to sit and visit with your friends or other customers. Free WII FI and lots of great magazines to read including the Wall Street Journal.

No matter what I order, it's always so good! I decided to change it up and order the olive dog, it was the best hot dog I ever ate. My kids love their paint ball ice cream.
To say that I love this place is an understatement, exceptional food served with a genuine smile! And let's not forget that they serve home made soup in the winter! Yay!

It has been about 16 years or so since i have visited. But i can still remember walking across the street from my dads house to get a chicago dog. They were great back then.
We ran across this place on a Google search for an outdoor restaurant and what a great experience!!! They have an incredible story and the owners are really good people. The food was great. The root beer was even better. There is a little outdoor patio to eat outside at and it is adorable. Perfect little date site. This is an establishment that definitely deserves community support! Wish they were in Kalamazoo but now it will be a location to visit on the way up north! They deserve our business and they deserve yours!! God bless ladies! We look forward to our next visit!
2023_08_18 We had just left a tennis tournament at South Christian. I asked my son to look up hot dog places and he found Cooks Hot Dog Drive In. I've never been there but I'm happy we did! The food was quick and great along with the service. Fun place for a quick bite to eat!
Absolutely fantastic! I've waited for 40 years to get back to My Favorite Chili Dog! And they were just as awesome as I remembered! The Cashier was Wonderful...friendly, helpful, kind, knowledgeable & obviously had been there for a very long time! She was so fun! The atmosphere was just so fun inside & out with a bit of history, memorabilia, & friendly, cozy, homey feeling!
The hot dogs here are delicious! I had the Karona Dog and the Kielbasa. Both were cooked to perfection. The toppings were piled on generously, and the flavors came together in perfect harmony. I finished the meal off with a chocolate malt. They know how to make them. It was sweet and creamy as you would hope. My wife had the olive dog and she had to go back and get another because of how good it was. She got the chili dog and she was not disappointed. My Aunt got the Chicago dog. She has been here before and that is her favorite. I sampled a root beer float too, and that was amazing. I don't know what type of root beer they use, but it is quality stuff. I'm bummed I only just discovered this place, but I am happy that I did.
Great selection of hot dogs, love the Chicago dog but you have to try their root beer, it’s amazing! They have a variety of shakes and malts, chips, sodas... The patio is perfect for nice days.

My favorite place to get a nice root beer float after a rough day as a pick me up, The GR dog is easily my favorite out of all the hot dogs they offer. The staff are also super friendly if you can catch them during one of the slow times and have time for a chat they're wonderful people.
You want a low-frills, quick and dirty (in the best way possible) bite. These are hot dogs done right. Steamed Buns? Check. Mounds of toppings? Check. Ketchup? Yes, but that's a sin to put on your dog, so don't do it.
Not too far off the beaten path, so if you're heading east toward Detroit, South towards K-zoo its great little pit stop.
Don't overthink it and just enjoy the nostalgia.
Cooks has that old school vibe to it with a pretty good menu from dogs to shakes to floats to milkshakes. Super friendly people, the root beer is very good, they have nice outdoor seating. I'll be back.

Really good casual hot dog stand. Food, service, and atmosphere are great. Prices have gotten unreasonable, though. Paid over $12 for two dogs and a root beer.
Update: I suspect the owner will remove or amend his response, so I'm adding this update before he does. He completely ignored the fact that I praised his business, and instead, took issue with my comment that the prices were unreasonable. It doesn't matter how the prices compare to other places or what other customers say. That is irrelevant to my statement. It just means the other places have unreasonably high prices, too. He chose to respond with an attempt to cause others to question my credibility, instead of thanking me for calling his business "really good" and "great." For that, Cooks has lost my business permanently. I've been there several times, and each time had a good experience. But now, any future experience has been ruined. I cannot, in good conscience, patronize a business whose owner will attack the customers who complement it.
