Classic K Hamburgers

Yeah... no. I was hungry and there was not much around so I thought I'd try something new while passing through this town. That was a mistake. I should have known better just from the outside. But the food definitely matched the very low class exterior. I've probably not had a worse burger at very many places. Just say no.

I don't usually write reviews for bad experiences, but I had to share this one to warn folks about the wait time. I was passing through the area on a cross-country road trip and decided to try Classic K Hamburgers based on the reviews. I noticed comments on the food taking a while, but that the food was worth it, so I left my lodging and went to their drive-through. When I arrived there were 2 cars in front of me. I ordered my food and started to wait in the line. The first car got their food somewhat quickly, although I didn't know how long they'd been there before I arrived. The next car pulled up to the pick-up window and waited...and waited...and waited. I was patient, because of the reviews I'd seen. After at least 10 minutes I began to think that the person in front of me had placed a really big order and that's what was taking so long. We kept waiting. After at least another 5 minutes, a normal size order finally came out and the car in front of me drove away. It had been at least 15 minutes since I ordered, so my Bacon Cheeseburger and onion rings had plenty of time to cook while I was waiting for the order ahead of me, right? Well, apparently not. I sat at the window for at least another 10 minutes waiting for those 2 items. I have never waited in a drive-thru line for so long. Was the cook making one order at a time and not starting the next one until the first one was done? I have no idea, but I'd say they need a new cook or an additional cook. This was completely unnecessary. When I finally got my food, the burger was extremely overcooked. (see photos). It wasn't a thick burger so there was no reason to keep it on the grill so long. Aside from it being well done, the flavor was ok and the onion rings were ok too. Neither was worth the 30-minute wait in line on a hot summer night though. If I lived in the town I might give Classic K another chance, but as a result of my first visit I would not recommend it.

I must say, they have some of the best fried chicken sandwiches, burgers and fries . I add pickles and onions to the chicken sandwich and it just puts it over the top with an order of chilli cheese fries add onions with some hot sauce and a soda! They have a great selection and the prices are really good as well! If you have not been here in a while or if you have never been, I highly recommend!
