My husband and I have eaten here on several occasions and continue to be blown away by the service, quality, elegance, and depth of flavor in the food!! The Beef Wellington is unbelievable, but not to be outdone by the pork medallion and duck! The staff is absolutely incredible as well and so, so friendly and attentive. In addition, they have an amazing lunch menu with delicious food and soups. A GREAT staple in Butte!! Thank you!
I've travelled to many many countries in the world n have probably eaten way too much in this lifetime and I can confidently say this place has the BEST duck in the world. It's succulent, tender and has a very well balance of meat and fat on the duck. It was cooked to perfection - (**medium** was requested). And the huckleberry demi-glace complimented the duck with the slight sweetness. It was an out of this world experience. I would drive 580 miles again just for it any day. If you haven't been there, you are missing out dearly.
I consider Uptown Cafe one of Butte's saving graces. Consistently consistent. Sometimes I am not sure if I appreciate UC because I have been going there for two decades or if it is for the food. No doubt, the atmosphere and home town personal service are at the top of my list for reasons I return again and again. The location is in historical downtown. Their wine list, while limited, hits all the necessities for a small town restaurant and I appreciate knowing, when I walk in the door, what to expect. The food quality can vary but is usually pretty good. Occasionally they will miss the boat on something simple. They usually do a good job on their fish and steak dishes and are quick to fix anything if I am not satisfied. Their attitudes are always "Montana friendly and respectful." A walk downtown after dinner makes visiting Butte all the more wonderful after a relaxing dinner at Uptown Cafe. See ya' there.
Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The beef wellington was amazing and the duck with huckleberry sauce. The artichokes with crab meat delicious but from the appetizers the favorite was the clams maison.
We stopped by for lunch. We were a little surprised by the cafeteria style way they handle lunch and almost left. I am so glad we didn't. They offer 2 prepared specialties and a variety of salads.
My husband had a roast beef sandwich on a croissant and a Waldorf salad. He thought they were both amazing. I chose a salad and in spite of being prepared, was very fresh and tasty.
The icing on the cake was the Whoopie Pie. It was the freshest, most delicious Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Sandwich, with cream cheese frosting in the middle. I cannot stress enough how AMAZING this thing was. It is seriously the best thing I've ever eaten!
Everything was spot on. The chef clearly understands food & how to blend flavors together for perfection. The highlight of our brief stop over in Butte!!
So this is my experience here. Firstly I Googled
Places near me that could make a birthday cake.
Called and talked to a super friendly staff and ordered a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. (It was my girlfriends birthday) and this is her favorite cake. After I got back to the house with it and sang happy birthday we tried it. She said and I quote (THE BEST CAKE SHE EVER HAD). Definitely would recommend
What a gem!
Always an absolute pleasure to dine here!
Fresh ingredients prepared perfectly!
Wonderful staff!
We come here every time we visit Butte.
Nice place. This is a cafeteria style restraunt with a limited choice of a selection of food. The food was good but the planned menu is limited to what the weekly specials are. We went on a Friday. Great clam chowder and fish and chips. The chips were very good but they seem a little stingy with those..
