We had two lunch specials, General Tso's & Broccoli Chicken & both were quite tasty. Good service, food served fresh from the wok & decent prices.
Best Chinese Food In Town :D. Fredpdk had it right when he said "Chung King meets 1950's dive bar Chinese food." A little while ago while antelope hunting near burns, I had that ancient and all to familiar craving for good Chinese food. (a note to the reader: I have that craving everyday). I was told by a local that the Hilander was the only game in town. I was pleasantly pleased with the combo plate I ordered, the friendly staff, clean bathroom, and non-country music that was playing. The food is standard fare but good. So what do you do when you are in the middle of the desert with no Chinese food? Go to the hilander! I would recommend that you give em' a taste.

I ordered the mushroom chicken as I was craving moo goo gai pan, and figured it would be close enough. I can honestly say that it has been the only thing in this town that hasn't made me angry that I had to eat it.
The fried rice is also the brown sauce style. Where I'm from, this style can be found in half the restaurants, and you would be lucky if it had as much flavor as this. So just a heads up if you order it thinking it's the other style. It's good though.
And a note to people passing through- when I first moved here, nothing had flavor. It's because of the elevation and lack of humidity. You're in a high desert. They are not known for flavor, much less fresh food. So the reality is that almost everything comes to this town frozen. I mean, I saw one review complaining about lack of fresh ingredients. Did they not see what was around them? This town shouldn't even exist, yet here we are.
I'm grateful for this restaurant. It made me forget that I lived in Burns, until I had to go to my car. But the portions were so generous that I can dull the pain at home.
Surprisingly good for small town Oregon. Stopped in for lunch on a road trip and had the mushroom chicken with rice.
Large portion, hot with fresh vegetables, flavorful sauce. Egg flower soup was simple but tasty. Definitely would come back if in the area.
Restaurant was clean, decor was nice enough, service was friendly and helpful.
I don't even live in the area anymore and this place is still my favorite Chinese food restaraunt, amazing food, I love the Hong Kong chicken or beef as well as the chow mein! Good amount of food for the price!
Dinner was great been going since I was my kid's age. Ping and her husband are very nice.
I am sorry to see that it will be closed .I hope ping and her husband enjoy there retirement
