Western Charcoal Steak House

We pass by this place often and, after being curious enough to overlook the outside aesthetics, decided to go check reviews. So many reviews gave this place high ratings and talked of wonderfully nice service and good food with a smaller price range. Okay! That sounds decent so, we went in. We immediately noticed a rough interior but were greeted by the nicest staff. The hostesses were so kind, the waitress was nice without being overbearing. We decided to stay and order. I got the chicken sandwich with cheese, coleslaw, and fries. My husband got the chuckwagon steak with fried okra and fries. While waiting for our food, we were brought out the most delicious hush puppies. They were light and airy and seemed to almost melt in your mouth with deliciousness. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal and even a little of mine. I have to say that I am glad we went ahead and ventured in because my meal was delicious. The only complaint I'd have was that, although very tasty with a nice charcoal flavor, the chicken on my sandwich was a bit tough and only slightly overcooked. I'd suggest to anyone to overlook the failing decor and go in to have a yummy meal with a great staff and at a very affordable price range. It's one of the better diamonds in the rough that we have found.

Was excited to dine in again last night, however the service was poor. The food was great but had to ask for everything such as butter, sour cream, steak sauce and even dressing for a grilled chicken salad, refills and asked for hushpuppies 3 times and never got them. I told the cashier and she was rude and asked if I knew anyone who wanted to work because they were short staffed. I explained that I too work in the service industry and I get it to a point but being rude about it only made things worse. I truly hope this isn't going to be the new normal because I always enjoyed dining there in the past. Thanks so much!
