Excellent service!!! They serve your dinner as it’s supposed to be - bringing appetizers, bread, and entrees in order and allowing good 30 minutes in between, so you can talk. Allow for 2 hours to really enjoy this amazing dinner experience. Food is great, elk steak is to die for!

Outstanding food. Portions are medium--you won't leave stuffed or with food on the table, but you won't go hungry either. Everything I ordered was flavorful and perfectly cooked. On top of it, the new owner(since 2019) and servers were absolutely wonderful.
I would rate this higher than most restaurants I've been to in Seattle or Denver.
Would absolutely recommend to anyone searching for fantastic food at a reasonable price.

They have the best steak I have ever eaten! So tender, buttery, and well seasoned. From appetizers to desserts, everything was amazing. I don't have a single complaint other than I wish I had eaten here sooner! The staff are so attentive and really courteous, and the atmosphere is really beautiful. I ordered the ribeye, loaded garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and grilled caeser salad. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Best steakhouse in town, hands down!

The food is excellent. The buffalo ribeye was just the best. (Not a bad compliment from ranchers.). The teriyaki salmon was delicious.
The historic atmosphere is wonderful.
The staff is top notch. Our gracious hostess made our reservations just what we had in mind. Our server, Skyy, was very good and an absolute delight.
The band at the Occidental was very, very good. Such a group of musicians! Too bad the place was so packed we could not stay for lack of space. If you go on Thursday, go early!

Best steakhouse in Buffalo, hands down. We had an awesome experience. Not only is the food amazing but the atmosphere and service was, too! I ordered the filet mignon, truffle mac n cheese, asparagus, and a wedge salad, and for dessert I had the creme brulee. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and seasoned so perfectly. Crusty and just the right amount of salty on the outside, and pink in the middle. We will definitely be back soon!!!

Despite one of the patrons saying this place was his favorite restauraunt, my self and even the couple sitting next to us, would disagree. Before we received our meal, the couple next to us, left mid-dinner because their meals were unacceptable. Here were our problems:
1. Their most coveted menu item, elk tenderloin, is/has not been available. (Our server also struggled with knowledge about the cuts of meat)
2. We had to ask the server to bring the drinks we ordered, after we received our first appetizer.
3. We never received our 2nd appetizer.
4. I informed i was allergic to dairy+eggs; my salad came covered in cheese.
5. I ordered my filet mignon medium rare, it came as a solid medium (this was the most disapointing aspect)
On the good side. The place was beautiful, the server was super sweet and the food had a very nice flavor.
