It's safe to say that Kuni's is one of the highest if the highest quality sushi restaurants in the western New York area. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food makes it hard to leave. Their deserts are also excellent. I once had the mixed fruit sorbet and it was one of the best desserts I've had to date.
Kuni’s is traditional Sushi restaurant located near the Elmwood Village on Lexington Ave. After running a sushi shop on Elmwood Ave and essentially introduced Buffalo to proper Japanese Sushi, Kuni Sato opened “Kuni’s to Go” on Lexington. In 2009, he expanded his location to house proper seating and a bar. The restaurant offers some of the most unique fish around and their Sake and Japanese beer selection is very impressive. The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday and their prices range from $5 rolls to $32 large combos.
What a Gem. The best sushi spot in Buffalo. If you're looking for a deep-fried roll with 30 sauces and cream cheese, go elsewhere. Simple, elegant, delicious sushi that is very affordable. Have not had any entrees but the salads and appetizers are great as well. Check out Kuni's, it will become your go-to sushi spot!
Great sushi!. This is our go to sushi spot in Buffalo. It's affordable and delicious. I love their wasabi shumai, and my favorite roll is spicy scallop and avocado roll, which isn't actually on the menu. Very fresh fish, great atmosphere, and I personally love the killer jazz music that is usually playing. Highly recommended!
An Amazing Experience!!!. Kuni's has the freshest sushi around. I travel frequently for work and I have yet to experience fresher sushi. Everything is delicious. The owner (Kuni) is always there. It is clear that he takes pride in his business. I love this place! You must experience it for yourself!
Great sushi and nice staff! Sushi doesn't even compare to other restaurants in the area. I can't wait to go back!
Love it.. When Kuni's closed I was a sad, sad girl. But then he re-opended, take out only, and I was sort of happy. Now he is back to being a full service restaurant. I eat here as much as I can. Is it pricey? A little, but no more so than any other sushi place, and the quality is much higher.
I never had "real" sushi before my first time at Kuni's several years ago-now its my favorite place! NEVER been disappointed-amazing food prepared by a master at his profession. You will not find a better meal, and the Japanese scotch (that's right scotch) makes the perfect meal even better. Love the staff too, always helpful and friendly! We will be back soon....
The Best Sushi Bar In Buffalo. This was my second time visiting Kuni's Sushi Bar and the first time I was blown way by how delicious and simple the pieces of sushi I was served were; and ate an astonishing number of them. Some favorites from both trips were the octopus, squid, tuna, surf clam, grilled eel, scallop and salmon and salmon roe. I didn't order mackerel the first time I went and was disappointed that they were out when I did order it. Also, I had the yellow tail and it had a bitter sort of flavor that didn't impress me. I have to add that I did order the sea urchin that I'm sure was expertly and lovingly prepared with great care, but just a personal preference, I will never order it again. And I have to say the restaurant itself was very beautiful and simple like the food. My waitress was attentive without hovering and the older sushi chef that prepared my meal was warm and friendly. To sum this review up I like Kuni's and I will never go to another place in Buffalo to satisfy my sushi cravings.
