Friendly staff. Seriously delicious food.
Food is delicious and inventive. Good options for vegetarians. Good service, can be slow if they are really busy.
Great find in downtown Buena Vista. My wife and I loved our visit to Asian Palate over Fourth of July weekend 2012. The place was so full that we sat at the bar, and we enjoyed the convivial atmosphere and great service. We appreciated the numerous vegetarian options and the great selection of local beers on tap. Best of all, the entrees - Chiang Mai noodles and panang curry --were made creatively and were quite delicious. We especially appreciated that spicy on the menu means SPICY, rather than the usual overly mild renditions of Asian-style food. Nice atmosphere, great food, friendly folks. When we return to BV, we'll be back.
Fantastic, delicious, amazing. This is Buena vista? Really? Wow!!!
BEST EVER!!!. I traveled all the way from New York to eat here....AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT!! Some of the best sushi I've ever eaten. And, every appetizer and meal that I tasted was better than the last. Living in New York, it's hard to find anything that tops the restaurants here, but now that I'm back home, I'm still trying to find sushi this good. Apparently, I've gotta head to Hawaii because that's where Master Chef Eddie gets all his fish. I went with a large group (like 20) people....and our waiter was able to recite our entire order back to us without writing a word...appetizer and dinner, and there wasn't a single error. Nothing is better than amazing food accompanied by great service. Thank you Eddie! Now, I've gotta spend my miles heading to Colorado!
Consistent quality. We own a Bed & Breakfast in Buena Vista and always recommend The Asian Palate to our guests...and we have never had a guest return without a big smile on their face and a huge compliment for our recommendation. You can count on Eddie and his crew to deliver high quality food, creative dishes and excellent service. You will not be disappointed.
Great sushi and asian food. The Asian Palate opened summer '09 on East Main Street in Buena Vista's historic downtown and is a highly welcome addition to the dining options in our beautiful mountain town. Owner Eddy Sandoval serves up various Asian dishes, ranging from Pad Thai to squid and seaweed salad and killer sushi. All his fish is flown in regularly and is as fresh as you can get in at 8,000' in the Rockies. I haven't had a meal I didn't like here, and I particularly recommend the Buena Vista Roll and I'm always up for a good pad thai. The squid salad is excellent, as are all of the curries- the Massaman takes the day.
We did enjoy our meal, although we are not really sushi people. Our entrees were well prepared and tasty, service was good, in that it was friendly and attentive. Although a bit pricey, The Asian Palate provides good quality fare. All in all, a pleasant dining experience.
The menu selections offered a very good variety of Asian dishes. I had the adobo with pancit because I am a Filipino and wanted to see how authentic it would be. The adobo was spot on! The chicken fell off the bones and the sauce was delicious. The pancit (noodles) as well as the bananas and rice rounded out the plate very nicely. As we would say, "Ang sarap sarap!" (Very yummy!)
It’s a real treat when your food is as beautiful to look at as it is delicious to eat.
I had the chicken curry, which was offered that day. I must say it was the best curry I ever ate. People have told me for years how good their food is and now I get it. Oh...and the flourless chocolate cake melts like a truffle in your mouth! Very pleased with the food and service.
Absolutely great. The service was superior and the food was amazing. Extra points for a broad selection of gluten-free items and a clearly-marked menu. The shrimp panaeng curry was fantastic and both our sushi rolls were excellent. Also great house cocktails. Can't wait to come back.
Food: Not great. I asked for a fish dish and it was surprisingly not gross, despite me abhorring fish. But the consensus in our group was that the food, although not bad, was nothing to write home about.
Workers: A+ attention. People were very kind and full of good humor despite it getting very busy soon after we got there. The patrons didn't seem to wait in line and there was an overall friendly atmosphere.
Prices are decent.
We were recommended this place from a concierge at Mt. Princeton and it was less than a 15 minute drive away. The service was amazing but the curry was so scrumptious we ate every bite. This was by far the best curry my lips have tasted! Would definitely recommended this fun and quaint restaurant.
I loved coming here. The hours have been so random that I keep coming when it's not open all summer. Hopefully it'll have consistent hours soon. Missing their sushi, Asian food and poke dishes.
Try the fresh wasabi. The sushi and cocktails were very tasty. Top it off with the flourless chocolate cake.
Food was excellent. The hostess was super pleasant and our waitress Kat was great. She knew the menu and made excellent recommendations. My red curry dish was mouth watering. We will recommend this with high marks.
Great restaurant!! I'm sad they don't serve the massaman curry anymore, but their tom ka gai is the best I've ever had. I've tried other dishes, too, and they were excellent. Sushi is great. The only negatives are that it has definitely jumped in price over the years. I've heard you can't make a reservation anymore, and the environment is crazy loud when the building is full. I'm hearing impaired and it gets so loud I can't hear my company who is sitting right next to me. It would be great if they got sound absorbing panels or something.
Sushi was phenomenal, particularly because it's in the middle of Colorado, thousands of miles away from the ocean.
Much classier atmosphere, service, and food than you'd expect in a small mountain town. Buena Vista is definitely up and coming!!
Pretty good. Service was very good, lots of vegetarian options and they'll work to make non-vegetarian stuff vegetarian. Only real complaint is that the prices are kind of high ($15 a plate), although I'm told this is normal for Buena Vista.
Never a disappointment. Hands down this is the best food in Buena vista. Everything is made fresh. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Prices are really fair as well. Be sure to stop by if your in town.
