My to-go order would have been great if only they had included the sauces that I requested in my initial request. You can see it on the order receipt that I've attached to my review. The place is very busy, which means it's popular. The other patrons in line were very friendly. There is a drive thru that was constantly full as well. I'll have to try it again and see if they can earn their star back.

I really like this place it's giving old school diner vibes like back in the drive in days when they showed movies yall know what I'm talking about. Anyway the place was crowded and we drove from LA to Buena Park just for this restaurant. It's always packed but they are good at keeping the line down. All the food is really good here and full of flavor. We spent about $75.00. I did a video for you guys and some pics. Enjoy....

Great place for a meal. The environment was interesting to the eye. Something to look at in every corner. By far, the best breaded chicken sandwich I've ever had! We'll definitely come back!

Chicago Dog in Orange County? Sign me up! Portillo's is as authentic as one can get when you crave an Italian beef or Chicago dog. Situated in the bustling Buena Park, across from Portos, Portillo's is a massive shop that can't be missed. They are constantly busy both indoors and in the drive-thru, open from early lunch to late at night. Once you enter, you're transported into a vibrant diner adorned with various artifacts carefully selected by the restaurant manager. It's bright, fun, and lively. Let's dive into the food: * Chicago dog - This is not your typical hot dog. It's garnished with pickles, tomatoes, relish, onions, and mustard, all on a poppy seed bun. Such a fun way to enjoy a hot dog. Once you try the Chicago style, you can never go back! * Italian beef (dipped) - Tender, thinly sliced beef on French bread, with melted cheese and added peppers. Highly recommend getting it dipped; it's juicy, soft, and oozing goodness. * Cake shake - Just as the name suggests, they've added a slice of cake to their shake blend. It's super decadent and delicious, but not for the faint of heart. Portillo's is a household name for Italian beef, and you can't go wrong with any of their dishes here. It's a place for us to be transported back to Chicago whenever we miss the city, the food, and the beautiful architecture.

This place is fantastic. Born in Chicago, traditional recipes, and great value. Hot Italian beef sandwiches, cake shakes, cheese sauce for your onion rings, and a big patio for those nice days. The portions are huge, and there isn't any I've tried on their menu that isn't big in flavor. The gardinare is a must-have on your sandwich. It adds crunch, heat, and flavor. Their bread is fresh and soft. The beef is sliced thin and perfectly cooked. This place is awesome.

Portillos in Buena Park is great! It has that Chicago vibe, and I feel at home. My favorite meal is Italian beef 😋 and if I have room, I have to get a Chicago dog! Highly recommend for anyone to stop and try this place!

Being originally from Chicago this place is a little piece of Heaven. The service is quick and friendly, the food...omg . The jumbo hot dogs with everything are... everything. The chopped salad- delicious. French fries - hot salty crispy. Shakes are 2nd to none.

Pretty on par with the Portillo's I had in Chicago. I had the Italian beef and Chocolate Cake Shake. The cake shake was just as good as the one in Chicago, and just as hefty. The Italian beef, this was actually the first time I tried it. The beef was nice, and the sandwich was pretty greasy. I think I've had better Italian beef at other chicago places, but this wasn't bad. Overall, if you want to try a taste of Chicago in California, this is not a bad choice.

First time trying this place. Always passed by and never been inside. And I gotta say I'm not disappointed. The food was good. And price is great. Spent $40 on 3 people. Got the #3 double cheeseburger, the chicken sandwich (spicy and delicious) and the rodeo burger for my son. It' didnt disappoint. We will definitely be coming back for more. Plus the interior is awesome and the music is the best. Love the 50s music.

I had such a great time! Everything was really good, but my favorites were the beef hotdog, the Maxwell Street Polish sausage, and their famous chocolate cake! The staff here are so warm and definitely tend to all your needs. They do their absolute best to make your visit a positive experience and I appreciate that so much. I can’t wait to go back and bring friends!
