I found this place online. It’s really unique. The signed walls. The river customers who boat in. The license plates. Listen to country music and watch the river flow by as you eat great pizza and pretzels. There is outside seating only. The service was fast. They burn their paper and recycle everything else. The whole setting is laid back and unique. You can specialize your pizza. I asked for a hot
Dog for my dog and they cooked it and cut it up for her ❤️. If you don’t want to eat on the deck they provide picnic tables along the river.
Absolutely love this place. Excellent pizza, atmosphere and service. We called ahead to ask if we took 2 of our keto crusts with us, if they would top it for us.. they did and we were super thankful. It allowed us to still enjoy pizza with the rest of the non keto family and enjoy our favorite pizza....Get the Cindy Special... you won't regret it!
This was a spur of the moment stop. We were coming from Gatlinburg and holding out for lunch until we came across something interesting. So glad we stopped. Totally welcoming atmosphere. The owner was nice and gave that cute “come on in” invitation giving it a southern homey feel. The whole place had a fun funky vibe which I love. Full of kayakers, young adults and families. So it’s perfect for everyone. A row of bar stools along the deck made a gorgeous view of the river. The prices were great too. For two bbq sandwich baskets with baked beans and potato salad, 2 slices of pizza and 3 drinks it came to under 23 bucks. And yes, the potato salad 👌.This stop was the icing on the cake of our Memorial Day weekend. 🙏
Best pizza on the river... also the only pizza on the river. Average pizza, but super cool location. You can sit by the river and eat with the ducks and kayakers.
Yummy pizza with a view, right on the river! Quick service, nice folks, and quaint little local spot to grab a bite to eat. Lots of business from rafters.
Delicious pizza right on the water, full of character and great taste. Limited hours during the winter season from what I'm told so be sure to check to see if open, but worth it if you are in the area.
Me and a few others were rafting the river and decided to stop here and get some pizza. This is a very unique place, with hanging license plates and signatures all over the walls. The wait was around 20 minutes for our pizza, but it tasted great and it was a fun place to stay. The lady working behind the counter was kind and helped a lot. Overall great place!
We've passed Pizza By The River for the past 4 years on our way to Nantahala Lake, but until this year we never ordered a pizza from them. I ordered one on Friday night, and "Cindy" said "It will be ready when you get here". When I arrived, Cindy was already headed toward our car with pizza in hand. She delivered the delicious pizza with a very special, unexpected gift and said "Merry Christmas!". (It's July). What a wonderful, kind lady who makes a delicious pizza!

Cool place on the river with good pizza. Must give it a try if rafting in the area. Prices good and waitstaff are great. I must add that to reviewer AxGOODxOLDxBOY THAT GAVE IT A 1 STAR......IT IS CALLED PIZZA BY THE RIVER AND NOT BBQ BY THE RIVER....JUST SAYING!!!!!
