Grand Plaza Mexican Grill

I have always had great experiences going to Grand Plaza. My friends and I have gone for years.. the last 2 times weren’t so great and I don’t believe I will be returning. The one time the waitress didn’t even write down my friend and I’s order so when it came out it was all wrong and we had to ask her for several items that were missing. Then the last time I went my bill was roughly $43 I left $50 on my tab and the waiter took it and never brought my change or a receipt back. Another waiter was walking by so I asked him if he could get my change and receipt. Upon coming back to my table he proceeds to tell me my change was only 33 cents and the waiter must have just thrown it in the drawer and I’m like excuse me? That’s not right can I please have a receipt, then he tells me they don’t give receipts and I’m like what???? & I know My change was not 33 cents as I left $50! he walked away again and I waited there for 10 minutes and my table was literally just avoided while I sat there. So I got up and I left angry and decided to call the next day to talk to a manager. The manager proceeds to tell me I still owed 33 cents and that I could go in and pay that and I could not even believe that. I know my change should have been at least $5 because I have them a certain amount to break a $5 bill to leave a tip. & also my friend who was eating with me seen what I left because I picked up the bill for us. The manager did not care at all to make this right for me, he basically told me I owed them money and that was very disrespectful & unprofessional.

I don't like writing bad reviews unless deserved. Im not sure what is going on with the cooks. I hope owners read these reviews Sometimes it's good but lately it's been bad. I like to order the soup and one day they loaded it with so many spicy jalapenos I couldn't eat it due to my ulcers. Why start to add something like that when they never had before? Then I liked the mashed potatoes and last 2 times they were like water dripping off my plate. Disgusting. I didn't eat my food it was gross. Maybe they don't care anymore so after 3 strikes I guess I need to find a new place to go. Maybe they can learn to make mashed potatoes not soup or take them off the menu. Also not burn someone's mouth by filling soup with Jalepenos. We don't complain and we tip well so no reason for messed up food. I'd like to see improvements. The male servers are usually good and prompt. We have no complaints on the waiters.

So disappointed. Got there early. Kept having to flag waitress down for anything. Ordered guacamole and chorizoqueso and ran out of salsa and chips. Finally asked for bill after our drinks sat empty for 10 min. Gave her cash and she never brought our change back. Seriously. Not sure what the issue was tonight but our service was awful. And no excuse because they weren’t busy.
