Whether you’re missing crawfish season or just want some nice warm Cajun food, Shipwreck Grill is likely to fill your cravings. The Boilin’ Pot includes everything one would include in their crawfish pot, minus the crawfish. Garlic, potatoes, lemon, andouille sausage, shrimp, corn, and mushrooms fill what seems to be a regular sized bowl with big flavor. Not a seafood fan? Don’t worry! The menu includes burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, and more.
Great Cajun style food reasonable price. We went here to try a new seafood place and we were very happy with it. I had blackened tilapia with crawfish topping and it was great!
Great fish fry and fresh food!. To the reviewer who doesn't like the restaurant, despite lauding its food and service, because it's in a "high crime area" -- sir, you do not know high-crime areas. A lot of crimes happen right on Northgate. What he means it's in a lower-income area. We visited the restaurant last night and were met with a 45 minute wait, which we took as a sign of good business so we chose to stay. We were able to wait at the bar and order a drink (sangria!) and an appetizer while we waited. A server at the bar spent the entire time shucking oysters in front of customers and putting them on service plates, showing just how fresh the food is. It convinced me to order the fried oyster basket, my friend ordered shrimp, and we shared the Fish N Chips. Food you expect to be heavily battered and heavy came out light, not over-cooked, and tender with lots of flavor. Even as it was busy we were paid excellent attention to by our server. Every customer seemed to enjoy their time there. We liked every item, including the hushpuppies with a kick and the black beans' flavors. My friend and I settled that we should absolutely make it a frequent place to go to.
Great food, great atmosphere! Try the shrimp diablo, and the crawfish tacos they are amazing. Server was very sweet and food was priced right.
Typically, the further you get from New Orleans and Louisanna (or the Gulf for that matter) the worse restaurant gumbo becomes. That is until you get to Shipwreck in Bryan, TX. Best gumbo in a 100-mile radius.
The best place in town. The deablos and the shipwreck sauce.
So good! We had raw oysters (fresh), a fried oyster po boy, a boat burger, and key lime pie. Everything was wonderful, and the service fantastic. We will definately be back!
Enjoyed the atmosphere. The good was great. Service was on the spot. We had a larger group so it was tricky but they did great!
Shipwreck's is my favorite seafood place anywhere!. Anytime I have friends from out of town visit, I take them here. Shipwreck's is the only place in town with a cool patio on the hottest summer days and a warm patio in the winter (not just "patchy warm" but downright comfy).
Appetizers are fun and delicious and the food ranges from amazing fried baskets (love the fried oysters) and poboys to tempting grilled entrees with fresh skewered, grilled veggies. Crawfish season was made for this place as they have the best deal anywhere on heaping helpings of the critters.
The waitstaff are on top of their game and truly add to the atmosphere this fun barge-turned-restaurant already has.
Drink-wise, great mixed drinks although I recommend the old standby of oysters on the half-shell and beer.
All Time Favorites. Love everything about this restaurant, especially the delicious crawfish tacos (on corn tortilla) and the Sangria. The atmosphere is friendly and the food is wonderful.
Don't Eat the Desert. The Shipwreck Grill is casual and kid friendly.
The Great: Hushpuppies with shipwreck sauce. Shrimp diablo (shrimp with jalapeno wrapped in bacon and fried). Outdoor seating is available. Very friendly wait staff.
The Good: French fries
The Bad: Chocolate raspberry roll-around
Blackened Chicken tacos are amazing. Love the black beans and shipwreck sauce also. Always have had friendly service and love to always see the owners there. It's obvious that they are passionate about their place. Haven't been here? Go!

Wonderful food!! Wonderful experience!! Can't wait to go back fir live music one thursday night!!
Yum. I remember coming to this location when it was Captain's, about 10 years ago. It closed some time after we moved away, but I have no idea why because it was quite good.
Now it is the Shipwreck Grill. Apparently, unbeknown to us, it was their first night open, and we stumbled in while trying to find a place to fix our seafood fix at 9:50 p.m.
We pulled up and there was a waitress taking a smoke break on the front porch (tacky), and we asked her if they were still open (they were). Nice of them to let us in with 10 minutes to close, our feelings would not have been hurt if they turned us away, but I reckon they wanted to make a good impression their first night of business.
All the waitresses were college girls, and the bar was very inviting with the polished wood and tv's everywhere, so the owner obviously knows the right angle to go for in this town. As my fiance was checking out the eye candy, our waitress bounces up, super nice and bubbly and takes our order.
We started off with water although their sangria in a goblet looked tempting ( I just turned 21 so it's still hard for me to fathom paying $7 for a drink), and ordered some jalepeno poppers for an appetizer. They were good, tasted very similar to Sonic's, so not spectacular by any means. I ordered the bleu cheese burger because the waitress recommended it, it has bleu cheese crumbles, hot sauce, tomato, and red onion on a chargrilled patty between sweet buns. Can I just say how much I love sweet buns for burgers and sandwiches? Alot. I hated when Margarita Rocks closed, they had the best burgers and mostly because of the bread. Anyways... good burgers at Shipwreck Grill. Fiance ordered the shrimp and oyster poboy, which was served on a sweet sub bun, and seasoned fries on the side. The shrimp was REALLY good, but the oysters had somewhat of a strong taste.
All in all, we enjoyed our experience at the Shipwreck Grill, we liked the atmosphere and the bar looks like a good one. Waitstaff was nice, and the owner was too (he came to ask us how we liked our meal). Aggie owned and operated... surprise, surprise!
Awesome device, great food, great "joint". Wade and Mary are the consumate hosts and the food is always fresh and tasty. My daughter is one of the pickiest eaters around and she loves the burgers, fries and chips with serano ranch dressing!
Delicious food, great friendly service!. The Tomatillo Chicken Sandwich on the lunch special was outstanding. Fresh made fire roasted tomatillo and pepper sauce on a perfectly grilled chicken breast. The bun was warm and toasted and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. It came with a large portion of lightly seasoned fries. I will definitely be back.
Love this place. First time trying it. Some of the best seafood in town
A great little place to eat. I tried grilled oysters for the first time and I thoroughly enjoyed them! I also ordered a Sangria, which was beautiful, unfortunately my taste buds were not having it and our wonderful bartender graciously made me a Bay Breeze; where I managed to have 3!😎🍹🍴😁 #makingmemoriesthatlllastaliftime
The food is outstanding & service too..I think I have had everything on the menu and Have NOT been disappointed..ITS FABULOUS,🥰
Shipwreck is awesome! Genesis is one of the waitresses there and can make any drink with precision and quality! Plus any item on the menu is awesome! I recommend this restaurant to any and all.
Good food at fair prices. Fried shrimp were lightly battered. My party of four all liked their meal.
The food is/has always been good. The wait staff are usually always attentive, even when it's really busy service is good. Great place to get a bite of fish and drink a cold beer. My wife and I definitely enjoy coming here.
The seafood is some of the freshest in town. A great place for crawfish when in season. Tell Wade I sent you. Also, for great Italian check out Amico Nave across the street. Same owners.
