Review J. Cody's Steak And Barbeque - Bryan

Always loved there food in college- come for the delicious meat but come back for all their amazing sides!!! I loved them so much that we booked them to cater our wedding. Jessica was so professional and nice to work with. She made sure everything was taken care of smoothly and put our wants/needs first always. I must have changed the menu on her about 10 times but she adjusted with ease! All of the guests loved the food, the presentation was beautiful, and the pricing is very affordable for the quality meal/service you get. I highly recommend them for any and all events!!

Reasonably priced. Brisket and chicken were my favorite items on the bbq platter (which comes with an unlimited buffet for sides, such as coleslaw, potato salad etc..)

Best barbeque joint in Bryan/College Station. The smell walking in the door is amazing and the food matches. The staff is so friendly, courteous, and attentive. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The brisket is tender and moist. The burgers have an amazing hint of smoke. And the best meat available is the chicken thighs. So tender, juicy, and flavorful. Make sure to save room for the Cody Corn; the best side dish on the menu.

I'll get right to the point. Cody only seasons his brisket with salt, pepper, and garlic. It's the driest meat there is. Even the turkey is dry. When they serve you your plate, there are literally cracks in the dry meat. We all love jalapeno and cheese sausage. Yet- Cody refuses to make it because he doesn't want to be like the competition. Wouldn't hurt- cause the sausage is awful. There have been customers from Canada that said it was the worst dry brisket. What does that tell you?

Come hungry! Huge portions of delicious smoked meats. 😋

Now this is a great place to eat!! The barbecue is excellent and the sides are awesome! If you are looking for some great barbecue and an awesome atmosphere then J Cody's is the place to go. I highly recommend it. Definitely a big thumbs 👍 up. If you haven't tried J Cody's then get you're hind end over there ASAP!

Was very psyched to try out J Cody after it was highly recommended by some folks I know. It was good, not great. I ordered a three meat plate (brisket, turkey and sausage), so I'd have leftovers and to try a little of everything. Sausage was pedestrian. Brisket was lean and still moist and the turkey was also moist and flavorful. Highly recommend both. Mashed potatoes/gravy were standard and the Cody corn was not as good as the waitress hyped it to be...too much onion, not enough jalapeno. Daughter's burger was fabulous. Homemade bread and cornbread fantastic. Desserts were peach and pecan cobblers. Peach was nothing to write home about, but serviceable. Pecan tasted like pecan pie according to my wife, good but not great. There you have it. I will go back to try the chicken fried steak and a steak.

I'm giving 5 stars for two companies, first J. Cody's food was great but the service and speed Aggielandfood dot com gave in picking up and delivering it was amazing. 20 minutes after ordering its in front of me and I live 10 minutes away. First paragraph was to document a great experience I had with a previous 5 star rating. Today however was quite different. I ordered a three meat plate, the ribs were excellent. The brisket and pork loin were left overs from yesterday. It was cold and dry. I understand if the plate isn't cooked perfect but old left overs at regular price. Come on donate the left over food to a shelter. Sadly I won't be back.

J. Cody's is my favorite BBQ place in town. You'll never be disappointed with anything off the menu. My favorite is the chopped brisket sandwich. The fries are hand cut in house. Just go, you'll love it too!

One of my favorite places to eat in B/CS. The service is always top notch, everything on the menu is absolutely delicious, and a awesome vegetable bar. Love the Cody Corn.

Fun Place to eat and enjoy the astmoshepere... brought our five grandkids ages 6 thru 12 and man, they had a blast. Steaks & Briskets fantastic...cornbread overcooked a bit dry, beans were needed some seasoning, however, young kid thought they the best ever...

We had lunch at J. Cody's and the food is excellent. I had the chicken thigh plate and it was delicious. The endless sides bar was so good, especially the creamed corn. Everything was yummy. The service and atmosphere was very welcoming.

Being spoiled by the large portion ribeye. Walk in order the 20oz ribeye med rare. You can thank me later. The sides are seasoned not bland, beans and okra tomatoes are my favorite. Oh left out one small detail the beer is COLD. Enjoyed the seniors picking and singing , toe tapping music.

Everything I have ever eaten at J Cody's has been excellent. The sides and Jalapeno cornbread are fantastic. The Staff there is also great, very prompt and friendly. You go J Cody's, keep up the good work.

We had an exceptional experience, the meats were great and the endless "sides" bar including three bread options added to our dinner! Highly recommend, we will come back to try their steaks soon!!

Had the best tasting Chicken Fried Steak ever! Most places don't really season theirs. J. Cody's was perfect and a good size too. The cream corn and fresh made mashed potatoes were also delicious plus the homemade bread. Yummy! This was our Thanksgiving lunch catered for work. Best choice ever!

The best of everything! I have never eaten anything there that was not terrific!

If I could've left no star I would've. I bought another one of those $12.50 for $25.00 coupon things that KBTX sells on Thursday at 7am, I've been there before & had the grossly overpriced 20oz. ribeye, it was not bad, I ordered mine medium rare, it was RAW, the rarest steak I've ever eaten. This time my cousin & I went to try the brisket, BIG MISTAKE! How do you buy a big piece of meat, put seasoning on it, put it on a Bar B Q pit for several hours & it comes off with almost no taste. The best piece of meat I had was a piece of sausage I fished out of the pinto beans. I will NEVER eat brisket there again. And the slaw tasted like it had no mayonnaise in it at all. I'm sorry for this bad review, but it seams to me like the people that eat here & COME BACK, just don't know what real good BAR B Q is supposed to taste like.

Although I eat BBQ elsewhere in town, pretty much everything else at this place fantastic. Awesome sides, homemade bread, Chicken Fried Steak, Creamed Corn and steaks. Fully worth a visit.

Been there many times and every time the Food is Awesome! I got a steak perfectly cooked my wife got the Grilled catfish She ate it all she never eats all her food! 2 days later and she is still talking about it !! Any time I am in the area I try to stop !! Keep it up guys !

We had a large group and they sat us and fed us super quick! The Ribs were legit, sausage was good too. Check this cafeteria style BBQ out if you get the chance.
