Always love coming here, one of my favorite places for when I visit the valley to have frozen yogurt with my family.

So delicious! Lots of flavors of yogurt to choose from, but you have to get a crepe! Definitely the best place in Cameron County to get a crepe! Will definitely be repeat customers!

Well, I gave them five stars because they deserve it for now. I had dropped my lovely wife off at another store within the same shopping center and needed a place to wait. I decided that sitting outside while waiting was preferable at the time, and guess who had chairs outside... u-mix. While I sat outside in front of u-mix I saw individuals, couples (young and old), parents with kids, kids with kids and so on all coming and going. Some of them stayed to eat in and others took their food to go. Now, the longer I sat there the more hungry I noticed I was becoming. As time continued to pass I realized I was smelling some kind of amazing food! Unfortunately for u-mix, it wasn't their food. I searched the area from my perch until I saw it. It was a revelation straight from the world of cows! It was Taco Palenque! Unfortunately for me, those amazing, but rather expensive, fajitas were not in the cards for me that day. At least I was able to discover the reason for my unexpected hunger! Thank you u-mix for providing those chairs outside and upwind from Taco Palenque.

This place is absolutely off the chain!!
It’s funny because, typically speaking, I normally would never stopped here—figuring it was just a knock off of Tropic Smoothie (overpriced, understaffed AND underpaid employees only-too-happy to hate on customers in random retaliation) but since I frequented the eyelash studio next door, arriving early one afternoon, I gave it a timid try; opting to buy a crepe (something I’d never had before, being from South Dakota) and finding myself shocked by how WRONG I was.
Tropic Smoothie WISHES it could be 1/2 as amazing as this place is!
And it all started because a tall, handsome young man took the time to actually TALK to me about the products, explaining in detail the different array of ingredients that could be combined in order to compliment the subtle sweetness of the crepe itself, the smile reaching his eyes as his infectious exuberance caused us both to just laugh, following my, “Well, my goodness! You certainly found your passion at a young age. You ought to be the official Crepe King!”
He had me smiling all the way out the door, the experience enough to send me off with the impression that I had been given much more than just a tasty new treat; I had found a new go-to-spot; a sanctuary of sorts—essential to anyone who is new to an area.
That young man LOVED his job. He LOVED people and he knew that menu as if he’d created it himself.
To me…? That screams of a personal stake in something he was proud to be part of; an emotional investment in making another person’s dream come true.
Enthusiasm like that does not EXIST under awful management. A surly supervisor can sincerely make even the best business bunk. A mediocre manager seems to spawn mediocre everything as a result. But a GREAT employer—someone who pursues a vision, who sees employees as people, who puts effort into personal relationships with those he/she profits from—a great employer knows that their attitude is directly reflected in each one of the workers and they conduct themselves accordingly.
The result is a young man who passionately does his darndest—even when the boss ISNT there to see it. The result following that, is customers like me who come to visit each trip they take to Brownsville.
I’ve since had the honor of meeting the owner himself, my assumptions about the kind nature of his character quickly solidified as fact; shaking hands with a brilliant, benevolent man and idly thinking, “I wish, when I was a kid, I could’ve had a manager like that.”
Great employers make great employees who make great everything and thus, YOU have Umix—one of the BEST spots YOU MUST STOP and see to believe.
I ask you—is there any business on the planet that deserves your loyalty more than one like that?

We love this place. We've had the frozen yogurt with a trip to the toppings bar. They have the American sweet toppings and the fun tangy Mexican ones as well as fresh fruit. Great place to take the family. Management is always so helpful. Always clean, clean bathrooms. Cashiers are super pleasant.
