Redang Island - Brooklyn - Photo album

Nice Malaysian place in Brooklyn. Prices are reasonable. That night we ordered the Bird’s Nest stir fry, steamed fish with tamarind sauce and Hainan chicken. Every dish was delicious and we’d come again. Place is wheelchair accessible. Of note, place is cash only.
The food is good, esp the Roti and curry. My niece who does not like spice but LOVES the curry. She also likes the juicy beef and chicken satay skewers. I like their Hainan chicken with yellow rice. The Princess tofu was good too. It is homemade. Would definitely recommend to others. BTW, service
Get the Malaysian chicken! There is a reason why this place has been here for decades. You cannot beat the authenticity and the price. For about 10$ you can get a half chicken. The staff is friendly and fast. The food comes out in minutes of ordering. This is my go to spot for sure.
Malaysian food is heavily influenced by #Thai, #Chinese, #Indonesian and #Indian cuisine. These influences extend from the use of the wok to the combinations of spices used in many popular dishes. There’s a few Malaysian restaurant in NYC and last week we tried out Redang #Malaysian restaurant in #B
I love everything except the seafood. Great coconut rice and chicken broth rice!
Delicious Malaysian food. Good value for money. Cash only no credit card. Different kinds of curry are very flavorful with all sorts of herbs and spices. If you never have Malaysian food before, it's an experience.
Food was amazing. The fried Malaysian style rice cakes was delicious. Hainese chicken was cooked well. Water spinach was flavorful. Had a great meal here, would definitely come back.
This is my go to spot in Brooklyn whenever I’m craving for good Malaysian food. Their pearl noodle is delicious with great wok heat flavor and their pearl noodles is aldente with every bite. Also ask them for their Malay hot sauce. It has a fish flavor to it. Very unique and yummy.
My favorite Malaysian place. The chicken is the best. It's always made with perfection, the meat is never dry and the soy sauce is so good. Only downfall is cash only.
Go hungry. Start with a Roti Canai, you will lick it clean. The beef or chicken satay are excellent too. Their Beef Redang is incredibly tender and full of flavor. It's got kick but not spicy enough to make your eyes water. If you like Hainanese chicken (a steamed chicken served at room temperature)
Redang Island is delicious! In the Summertime, the tea they serve is cold. It's a pleasant surprise and really good. I tried their appetizers of roti, chicken satay, and tofu satay. This place is great for groups since food is of large portion and served family style.
Super solid Malaysian food. I always look at the hainese chicken or however it's spelled. Malaysian restaurants need to be issuing white skinned chicken and not yellow. When it's yellow it's a bullcrap restaurant. This one's did it well. The rice was also delicious. Coconut rice or chicken broth ric
When in the mood for Malaysian cuisine while in Brooklyn, Redang Island certainly is the first (and possibly my only) choice! I highly recommend starting off with Roti Canai (Indian Pancake) and then having the 咖喱牛腩飯 (Stewed Curry Beef Brisket with Rice) -- its my go-to dish every time!
If you are in the mood for Malaysian food or can't decide what to eat, Redang island will be a great choice. The portions are a good size and the food is delicious. I would definitely recommend the prawn mee and the nasi lemak.
Authentic Malaysian food, large clean restaurant. Friendly staff and can accommodate large parties. The Roti Canai (roti prata) Indian bread with chicken curry is a must try. Hainan Chicken rice and mixed satay were also nice, reminiscent of what I've eaten in Singapore. Worth a visit if you are any
This is one of our favorite restaurants for family meals. The food is always good no matter what you get. We start out with roti and chicken satay, then one of the tofus, beef rendang, and fried rice with salted fish. It's not so fishy. Tea is hot in the winter but iced in the summer.
Tasty and inexpensive eats, get that Roti Canai for 3 bucks! Some portions have gotten smaller over the years but price remained the same. Friendly staff, quick service, food comes out very quickly.
