Good bagel spot. Cash only and usually there's a line, but worth it. Staff members continuously jump in to attend to customers, keeping the line moving. They have all the basics. A great for a grab-and-go breakfast.
I love this neighborhood gem. These are the best bagels in NYC! My friend and I stop by every weekend for a bagel. My favorite bagel order is their everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese. H& L bagels are soft and chewy and worth the walk even when it's 20 degrees outside. Bring cash! I
Great bagels great service. Sometimes the line is really long but it’s a small place it usually moves at a moderate by pace. Good coffee for the price. My go to is a bacon egg cheddar with an extra egg on a toasted everything flagel with hot sauce.
The bagels here are so good and fresh!! Definitely the best bagels in the neighborhood🥰 I love coming here to get a quick bite to eat.
Dare I say, an outstanding bagel. Warm, a little crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, plenty of cream cheese. If I was local I'd be here more often than my wife would let me.

Edit: As of 11/25/23, a bagel with cream cheese has once again gone up in price and hit $3.75. That’s a bit too much for Bay Ridge prices.
The bagels are great and everything is made consistently well. The staff is super nice and make you feel appreciated. I’ve never received poor service from them
Food is delicious i love the bagels but the yellow tint from the lights seems so bleak. Brighten up the place a bit.
Everything you want a BEC bagel sandwich to be. Loved going there. Super nice hard working people and great prices. Simple and charming and wish I lived close by cuz this would be my daily breakfast choice. The BLT was amazing as well.
Got a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel. It was really good. The staff was nice. They have egg cartons, milk and juices which was very convenient!
H&L is the best bagel store in bay ridge hands down. They have a home made roast beef and a homemade turkey which is go die for. there mini bagels are better than the regular. The bacon egg and cheese always is the best with that extra cheese give it a shot

This review is long overdue. This is the best bagel shop in all of Bay Ridge and you could take that to the bank. If Bay Ridge has one thing, it’s great bagel shops and this one is King. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. I love how the guy who owns the place is the one who’s making the bagel
