Whaleshead Resort Restaurant

We've stayed at WhalesHead beach resort many times. But this is specifically about one cabin we rented for the 4th of July. It is OV-11. It says it takes pets. But it's not pet friendly. There is no place to relieve your pet. You have to walk up or down the steep drive to get to a spot by a small pond. And the cabin itself is in need of some major updates. Mold in the bathroom, and there were hardly any silverware or even decent cooking pans. The coffee maker was bit old for my taste. The hot tub was ok. Could have been cleaner. And it has a ladder for the loft and the loft area had not been vacuumed. And there is no door for the main bedroom. It was just a curtain. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom, a queen in the loft and a queen pull out sofa bed. And there is no ocean view from the deck. It's all overgrown with trees. There was a little storage shed off of the deck that had a broken window and was overgrown with vines. Kind of creepy. There is no yard whatsoever. Just a deck on one side of the cabin and back where the hot tub is. This was the worst cabin we've stayed in so far at Whaleshead. And we've stayed in at least six different ones. Needless to say. I will never reserve OV-11 again.

Oh my goodness! I don't even want to write a review because I want to keep this place all to myself!! I am beyond happy with our stay here. The cabin was spectacular. Full of detail and so clean and just absolutely gorgeous. I was comfortable and enjoying every little moment. Our view was phenomenal. The hot tub was comfortable and clean. Our beds were so soft and cozy. We really made the best of this trip and enjoyed everything Whaleshead had to offer! Our host was extremely kind and courteous and so helpful. He was happy to get me exactly the room I was looking for. I will definitely be returning!

The cabin is very nice. They are quite large with just about everything one would need. A private hot tub and a good view of the ocean. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a good size deck wya grill and hot tub.

Had the most relaxing time... stayed 4 nights in I9 and will definitely be back again

We stayed in U12. The good: Fantastic ocean views from inside and at the patio table. Hot tub on the deck was working well and very relaxing. You do not have a view of the ocean and neighbors are right next door so not that private. The unit is up on the hill a ways in a quiet location. It is nicely decorated and has an open feel to it with multiple windows and light colors. Parking is right next to the entry door. Could have been better: Carpet upstairs in the loft area and stairs leading up seemed to have not been vacuumed. Chips, empty Oreo snack pack bag, Capri sun straw wrappers found. We vacuumed but it is not really the first thing you want to do when arriving. I know places do not wash comforters between guests but the loft comforter had many visible strands of long blonde hair. Took it off and used the spare comforter which seemed fine. The master bedroom downstairs seemed clean. The water faucet in the bathroom did not turn off completely and was hard to adjust it to even a drip instead of running water stream. Mentioned to the front desk but if they have more guests coming in right away it may not a priority. You can try to get it just right but it is this how you want to spend your time? Patio had 3 chairs and one of them broke while getting out of it due to rusted part on the base of the swivel. The top broke off the bottom as it was being used. There was already one chair missing. All should be replaced to avoid this happening to another guest. Dangerous to say the least. One of the inside chairs had a piece of string holding the middle rod of the back together, and resting your back on it is questionable in terms of stability. The patio deck is faded and is in need of staining. The hedge is not cut down at the far edges blocking some of the view. Overall we had a nice stay despite the above issues.
