I was first exposed to Glacken's in the 2000's by 2 friends of mine who are brothers and it was a tradition of theirs and their father's to "hit Glacken's" prior to Yankee games.
I've realistically "hit Glacken's" about 15 times now, and make sure whoever I go to the Yankee game with experiences Glacken's prior to.
Tom Glacken is a pleasure to chop it up with behind the bar and the crowd is cool too (even at 11am. LoL - 1:05 game)

Very laid back with a comfortable small setting. Everyone knows everyone, the drinks are well worth the prices. Dominoes and cards are played. Tv with family feud, jeopardy, and wheel of fortune. Moreso for the extra grown folks.

It was the best bar we went to in the city mainly because of the genuine locals and Tommy who was running the bar. I walked into the place and it was my first pub I had been to in the Bronx and I was welcomed with a hand shake and introduction. I went in all three days I was there to start the day and in one case...after the afternoon Yankees game. I met many great people in a short time. Thank you, Brackens, for being a great host.
