The only thing Italian about pizza Italia is the name (although I did taste a smidgen of oregano).
However, for $2.25, it's not a bad slice.
Decent amount of cheese and sauce, and decent size.
Soft crust, with no particular taste.
I'll give this a rating of 84.
Pizza Italia is a hidden gem for amazing pizza at a great price in the Bronx close to the Bronx Zoo. We found this place after a long day at the zoo. They have $1.50 slices and $11 large pies so you can not go wrong either way.
Only a couple tables inside but there is a park 100 feet away so you can sit there as well. The owner and staff are super friendly. The place is constantly busy but most everyone grabs their slice and then they leave.
We ordered a large pie and while we were waiting for only 8 minutes a minimum of 5 different people came in and commented to the owner that this is their favorite pizza!
If you are looking for a dollar pizza that is the locals favorite pizza place in the Bronx NYC then you found the spot.

One of my favorite go to places when I visit my old stomping grounds. Their Pizza is the best in the BX hands down! Real Italian made Pizza A+ Family run, Staff is friendly and helpful & polite. The prices are reasonable, & not hard on your wallet. All in all a must visit if you're interested in buying really Good Pizza.

Pizza Italia is one of the original pizza places in Bronx, keeping the tradition on what it means to be Italian. This place makes you feel like family. Don’t be afraid to order something other than pizza because whatever you order will be on point. I visited yesterday and the pizza was so delicious and with so many flavor could choose from.

I ordered a CHICKEN PARMESAN ZITI. It was delicious. Big Portion for the price. Great Meat Sauce Flavor and well cook. Beni was very friendly, professional and Polite. I have been a loyal customer for 27 years. Pizza Italia is definite one of favorite places to go for take out.

Great pizza, the cheapest price in the neighborhood but the quality is there...2 nice sized slices for 5 bucks?! You can't beat that!
This is a vary good pizza place. I bought a medium pepperoni and cheese pie for just $14.00….The crust was crispy, the sauce was delicious and and good quality cheese. My order was ready for pick up 15 min after I ordered. The team was kind. I totally recommend this place and I’ll definitely will come back soon……….
