The Groove Train

Awesome experience, the waitress we had was very friendly. Had a Pizza and Garlic Bread and we also ordered the southern style chicken burgers - all tasted amazing! Food portions are big - you get good sizes for what you pay for. The view from the restaurant looks out over the Brisbane River. Very quick service time will be returning and would recommend to everyone.

The food was good (I had salami pizza) and the staff was friendly. However, the service was poor. I believe that with staff training, they can easily earn 5 stars. The restaurant was not full. There were about 15 to 20 patrons. There were 2 wait staff working the floor with 4 people working behind the register and bar. It took someone 2 full minutes to come over, great me and seat me (the restaurant is not that large). The wait person that took my order disappeared and never returned during the remainder of my meal. When I wanted a second soda, I had to go over to the bar and get it myself.

We went to The Groove Train only once and decided to don't come back. My partner ordered a calamari salad and I had a wood fired pizza. Salad was so bad that my partner sent it back after the first bite. Calamari were good but only four strips, for $24??? The pizza base was horrible! I told the waitress that it wasn't a wood fired pizza but a frozen pizza from the supermarket, cooked in the electric oven, at which just the topping has been added. The waitress ensured that it was a wood fired pizza, also hand made. At this point, I can only think that the cook chose the worse and cheapest ingredients on the market to make that "pizza". We had a small discount on the bill but we didn't come back. Guys please, improve the quality of your food because it doesn't match with what customers expect from a good looking restaurant, also located in a such beautiful location.

Food was very poor. My sons pancakes were tough and it's obvious they were heated in a microwave. My husbands omelette was dry. I ordered the corn fritters with bacon. I returned the meal after 2 bites because the corn fritters where NOT fresh. They tasted foul and I suspect where off. Do not go here for breakfast. Coffee was good!

Went to lunch with a group from work, to make it easier for the staff we emailed our order ahead of time. Upon arriving we sat down and waited to be served to order drinks, didn't happen. Three times we approached the bar to place a drinks order or even get water. We were all half way through our meals before we finally got water and the rest of the drinks never arrived. First and Last time i will got to this restaurant. Service left a lot to be desired. Food was hot but bland.
