There were three of us driving down a long and lonely (it was packed) road, all the jammed up spots for gluten free peeps like my partner seemed alright but nothing stood out until we found this little baby. The whole menu is gluten free. She hadn't chicken and waffles in a decade. I fracking lurved my their version of a full english and those potatoes! I would do murders for those tates. I will find a reason to leave Jersey to come back here specifically, and that's no joshin'!
And it's a safe and clean environment and they will make sure you get home if you ever feel unsafe for any reason just ask for an Angel shot.
Also those Maneki Tots were *chef's kiss*
You know it’s a good gluten free restaurant when you can’t decide between which dishes you want. I dined here for a birthday party and we tried lots of menu items. The presentation and flavors are so good and so rich, you don’t notice it’s a completely gluten free place. I ordered the Al Pastor and blueberry cobbler. Great menu, great atmosphere, great drinks. Will be back to try all the new specials.
One of my new favorite restaurants. The service, owner Mark, food selection and quality are simply amazing. I had the Poutine, and my wife the steak and eggs, it was so flavorful and filling. Then we shared the Profiteroles which is 💯 percent home made and it was so delicious. Can’t wait to come back to this gem.
Absolutely loved this restaurant!! Every plate was amazing and the drinks were beyond delicious! They had a margarita flight which I highly recommend. Would not know this is a gluten free establishment. Brought our friend who has Celiac and to see her face light up when she realized she could have anything on the menu was priceless.
Yesterday had an opportunity to check out the new place opening up in the neighborhood, Black Rock Social House. It was a fundraiser for Triangle Community Center and a rehearsal service, in anticipation of their grand opening later this month. Looking forward to visiting this new cool place more in the future. Delicious food and really interesting drinks, warm atmosphere, live music. Tried a few things, The Little Piggy drink was amazing, ceviche and meatballs starters were delicious and my pan seared arctic char for main course was superb! Finished it off with yummy flan (and my friend had a cool looking poached pear). Definitely will be back soon!
The short version - Black Rock Social House is outstanding and absolutely worth a visit (multiple times); especially if you adhere to a gluten-free diet and always feel constrained by the limited options available on most menus. If that's you, then prepare to be spoiled with the freedom to choose whatever you want; and if you're not gluten-free, then be ready to be surprised at how good it can be!
The longer version - From the moment my wife and I walked through the door to when we finally left (very satisfied), we were welcomed by friendly faces and upbeat attitudes. Everyone was extremely warm and made every effort to ensure our experience was nothing less than top-notch. We were treated to several personal touches that made our stop so much more than a meal out, like Micheal, who out if the goodness of his heart, generously shared with us a piece of his magical origami art, and Burt, who engaged us as an old friend, served us amazing food along with spot-suggestions. Mark, the manager/owner, also made it a point to stop by and say hello; as he obviously takes great pride in what he has established with his restaurant, as well he should! We plan to make this a regular stop whenever we're in the area. Keep up the excellent work, we'll be back to see you again soon!
Honestly I’ve been to ALOT of “gluten free” places. But this was way over anything I could top, the WHOLE kitchen is GLUTEN FREE. CELIAC SAFE. Just amazing
