Reviews Eagles Nest Resturant

Reviews on this wee restaurant looked very good, so while exploring the Bangor area we stopped in. Parking is horrific on a busy thoroughfare with nice views of the river. We went inside and we were shocked at how small this restaurant is! Only five tables and five booths along the wall with soda machines, prep counter, a small 3-seat bar and a hostess stand taking up floor space. Since there wasn't a table available we waited on the benches outside, but we only had to wait five minutes until we were led inside and seated at one of the booths.

There's not only a large menu but a white board full of daily specials to choose from as well. Seafood, lobster rolls, fish stew, burgers, fried chicken, hot dogs....with appetizers and desserts too. We chose the fried fish sandwich and the cheeseburger plus a soda and an ice tea (no booze).

We waited about 20 minutes for our food but it was fresh and hot. The cheeseburger had a huge meaty patty, way bigger than the poor bun it was served with. The fish sandwich was a gigantic full haddock fillet, fried without being greasy with a very light breading. French fries served with both plates were crisp and delicious. We were stuffed after eating the sandwiches but still wanted a piece of Maine blueberry pie. We shared a big slice, easily 1/4 of a pie, but alas it wasn't homemade and the fruit filling was gloppy and the berries too large to be Maine berries.

Service was rushed and harried but friendly. Total for a tea, soda, tow sandwich plates and a piece of pie was $33.89 before tip.

If you're looking to fit in with the locals, look no further than Eagles Nest. Barely a large step off of Main Street in Brewer, this never-renovated bungalow houses eight small tables of Maineiacs all looking for the same thing: The best lobster roll. Though there is only one cook and one waitress per shift, the wait for food is never long and the meal is definitely worth it (so long as you order the lobster roll). For $16.50 their Texas toast is overflowing with large chunks of lobster tail and claws mixed with a perfect blend of smooth mayonnaise. The meal is served with large, fluffy french fries and a small cup of colesaw (mayonnaise-based) and a pickle on the side. The lunch hour can get a bit crowded so try to show up before noon and with a small party if you want to be seated immediately. Whether you're just passing through the area or new to the region, definitely put Eagle's Nest on your list of "Lobster Rolls Not To Pass Up."

Great Memories!. My family has been traveling to Canada thru Bangor/Brewster for over 40 years and the Eagles Nest is a "Must Stop" every trip. The food is homey, fresh, and serves up great memories every time. Love the lobster roll, clams, and desserts! Hope things never change!

Good food; tremendous respect.. I went to Eagles Nest and there were quite a few people dining. The waitress was extremely efficient and attentive to everyone even though she was by herself! I was impressed.
The food wasn't fancy but that was okay by me-- I had a haddock sandwich on a regular bun and the piece of fish was probably double the size of the bread! The onion rings were good too! I'll come back again.

Nice local family restaurant. OK, so the food is not fancy, but its well prepared and easy on the wallet. The Friday fish fry is very good, and I'm not a big fish fry fan. My favorites are usually the soups and stews. I don't always go for desserts, but the Eagle's Nest does them right, and so generous, you really have to share! I consider the Eagle's Nest a really nice local choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Not bad. I got the lobster roll, gave me a LOT of lobster and a tiny hotdog bun. Dont like buns so yay! Companion ordered some kind of steak. He loved it. The place is cramped and the AC was blasting but the ONE waitress was probably very busy. It has an ok view, but there just isnt much room to move around in there.

Big, tasty breakfasts. I've only been here for breakfast take out. It's well worth stopping if you're headed down Route 9 to shop in Bangor.

Holy smokes! I don't know how else to explain this but every other Lobster Roll I ever have will live in the shadow of this place. Thank you so much for introducing me to my first real Lobster Roll and being such gracious and generous hosts. Can't forget to mention the view outside the window. It's breathtaking!

A small location directly on a busy road next to a river. Locals recommended this place for their Lobster roll. I had a great lobster roll in Boston, and an "ok" roll at high tides restaurant, so this is my third roll ever. The cost was $31 for the roll, coleslaw and fries, which may surprise you to hear is a low price in 2022. The coleslaw serving was a bit "wet" and small, but we still liked it. Fries were nice and crispy and included packets of Heinz ketchup. The roll was a buttered and toasted Frankfurt roll and had an enormous serving of lobster meat, in fact I felt like I had to eat an entire lobster portion before I was able to take a bite of the lobster roll. Overall I was very impressed with the food and service and would recommend it. There are several other items on the menu and a few tables inside.

Lobster role is absolutely huge! Priced at $31 you could make 3 lobster roles out of one! The haddock dinner is also amazing with so much fish, fries, and coleslaw!

Food comes out freshly made in no time at all. This is the seafood platter it is amazing and this is not even the full plate we started eating already before we took this picture. Three people eat plenty and could be taking left overs home

Delicious and fresh seafood! The lobster roll was pricey for a small portion ($31.00) but that’s expected.

Just a shabby little shack off the road by the river with amazing fried fish (haddock). I can't speak for the other seafood options since I was too full from the "all you can eat" fried haddock dish. Great service as well. I think I ate about 2.5 pounds of fish for about 18$ not a bad deal.

We’ve stopped in every summer for 20+ years for our annual lobster roll and it remains hands down the best ever. Had a chance to try the lobster stew and it was insane. Pure lobster. Service was great. Dom was super nice.

You know this place is good when the locals recommended it on multiple occasions. My gf and I ordered fried haddock and scallop, along with classic lobster roll (get both!!!). HOLY COW, I'm not even a big seafood guy but I was blown away by the sweetness and freshness of the ingredients. We also loved our window seats by the nice and calm river. Our waitress was just so sweet and friendly and gave us awesome recommendations!!!
