Review Onyx Restaurant And Bar - Brentwood

First time visit had salmon risotto and calzone plus side order garlic bread. Food was delicious and waiter was outstanding sorry we didn't get his name.

Just had the most fantastic evening in Onyx for my daughters 21st birthday meal. Food was delicious, cocktails were great and the waiter was very attentive and put karaoke on at my daughters request. We all had a great night, with great food in a restaurant that even has a photo area! Will definitely be returning

Rather disappointed with our visit on this occasion. We have visited a couple of times before and couldn't find fault but this time we were less than impressed. A beautiful looking restaurant with a nice atmosphere,but if you are gonna charge high end prices for your food then it should be high end quality. The fillet steak was small and thin and very dry and at £32 (or was it more?) I would have expected far better. To add to that the smell of cigarette smoke kept wafting through the restaurant from the back of the building which as non smokers was rather unpleasant. To be fair though the 3rd time that this happened we did ask the waitress if a member of staff was smoking outside the kitchen and she kindly moved us to a table nearer the front where we could enjoy our after dinner drinks. Lovely cocktails and friendly staff and our starters and desserts were delicious but not sure we would come here again after the negatives we found on this occasion. A real shame

Had the best time here would highly recommend, had a live singer really enjoyed, me and my partner got there late and they still served us food. Waitress was so friendly and nice her name was Maria I hope to come here again. My second time being here great food and friendly staff much appreciated!!!

Fantastic afternoon at onyx!! We went for the afternoon brunch with bottomless cocktails which the food was amazing and filling. The staff was very attentive to make sure our glasses were full all the time . We would 💯 recommend this restaurant for all occasions. Nothing was to much trouble. 5 stars definitely

3 of us booked the Sunday Boozy Brunch and it did not disappoint! Our waiter was fantastic we were never left with an empty glass, he would ask us in advance what our next drink would be and bring them over as soon as we took our last sip. The food was really nice just enough not to feel bloated while drinking our cocktails. Good choice of cocktails as well. Would definitely book up again!

Good night, DJ entertainment was good. Usually have singers which would have been better. Very lively venue. Good for parties or meal before clubbing. Big menu of classic Italians, would say more of a place for the event than the food.

We went in at 5pm only one other group in the restaurant so not over run. I ordered Sea Bass came up over cooked and singed as was the chips. Came with the most frugal amount of thinnest green beans and the tiniest mushrooms I have ever seen on a massive plate so I asked for peas low and behold they did not have any. If I had not been with my son who doesn't like to complain I would have chucked it back at them a thoroughly HORRIBLE overpriced, burnt meal. WON'T go there again !!!!!
