The wait staff is very nice. And the military discount is 15%. Which is better than most. This is where the stars stop adding up. The food is not good. We didn’t come here for a great social experience. We came for the food. Everything honestly tastes like great value frozen boxed food that’s been heated in a microwave and left on the counter under a heating lamp. 10 out of 10 do not recommend.

We always love coming here when visiting Branson. It's a great place to eat. Great for Families. Server was very friendly and helpful. Will be back for sure.

We stopped in for dinner on Christmas Day. One of the only restaurants open in Branson. Had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. It was clean. They were very busy of course. My Food was okay, I had the country fried steak with potatoes and corn. My kids had soup and salad, Buffalo chicken salad and a burger. They finished theirs with no complaints (that’s a plus!).

There were 2 waitresses and the lady we got finally asked for our drinks after 7 minutes. They were out of lemons and limes. This I could deal with understanding.
The thing that ticked us off was her bad bad attitude. We were really nice and understanding about it all and still received coldness from her. It was like we did something wrong and it was such a chore to serve us. Sorry you are short staffed, but don't take it out on customers. Especially the sympathetic ones.
Will not be visiting again.

Came with my husband on a monday night. I ordered the chicken strip basket and he ordered the Chicken fried chicken. The service was fast and the place was clean. The chicken and fries were clearly made fresh and were delicious. The chicken strips are HUGE and actually provide more chicken then the chicken fried chicken platter. The batter was crispy but thin so when you took a bite you always got chicken. The fried are delicious as well. Battered and crispy. Great experience.

I read reviews for vacation planning, and based on the majority of positive reviews and my husband’s love for “real” home cooking, decided to give this place a try. It feels country, as expected. The restaurant seems large, with very socially distanced tables and it’s very clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly. We had great food, my husband ordered the McFarlain’s Special, and he loved it! The cornbread portion is huge and tastes like cake almost as it is sweet. I requested the “special” table and my ten year old was so surprised when it magically rose and he needed a booster seat! Everyone had food leftover so great value, portion-wise. Great place and I would recommend!

Food is always delicious, and the service is awesome Elizabeth did a great job serving me today. I had chicken strips, they were nice and crispy and hot, french fries also nice and crispy. I also had some of that famous cornbread which was delicious as always. Great family place which continues to deliver every time I come to Branson.

To be honest, we should have listened to my in laws. They recommended another restaurant. We ate a late breakfast in Eureka Springs and we went to the matinee showing of Samson at Sight and Sound Theatre, which by the way was fantastic.
We were starving. So I googled restaurants in Branson. It pulled up “The ten best restaurants in Branson. Lies lies lies! We chose a place called McFarland’s Restaurant. It was attached to an IMAX Theatre. We’re in a tourist town and there were tons of available seats. To be fair it’s big. Sat down to look at the table and looked at the menus and it had fried green tomatoes so I got excited. Looked a little closer and the fried green tomatoes were the most exciting thing. It really looked like a Denny’s menu. We were so hungry we contemplated leaving it couldn’t hold back. We both ordered country fried steak because I thought it was the safest thing to try.
They brought the cornbread and it was great. They had some honey spread that really was good. It didn’t improve from there.
The mashed potatoes were instant. The country fried steak was not fresh. I believe it was frozen definitely not hand breaded. I noticed it but didn’t want to alarm my wife. She brought it to my attention. I’m usually the one who is a food critic but her comments confirmed my suspicions.
Okay the kicker. It was 33.00.
Not to worry. I won’t be back or recommend this place. You guys won’t last.

Not the best food. Our waitress was rude. 3 stars only because the Cornbread is amazing but the food at Cracker Barrel is 10 times better than this place.

We went there for dinner one night! Excellent American home cooked food, staff, and atmosphere! The cornbread with a honey butter was awesome! We returned the next day for the breakfast also was wonderful best breakfast we have ever had!

My family contacted McFarlains to ask about them fixing a to go meal for my family of 10 as we celebrated an early Christmas in Branson. It took a while to get things set up (during the Thanksgiving holiday busy-ness) but Randy was super helpful and agreed to provide a traditional family meal: turkey, ham, green beans, gravy, mashed potatoes, cornbread with honey butter, and the most wonderful stuffing. Topped it off with a couple pies. We picked it up from the very helpful staff, and got it back to Branson West for our meal - right on schedule. Everything was hot, wonderful, and homemade and we couldn’t have asked for more from McFarlains. Very reasonable price as well. Thank you and well done McFarlains!
