Review Oma's Pizza And Italian Restaurant - Bradenton Beach

This is an OG restaurant and I know why its been around so long…. The food is fantastic. Friends and I had a bacon and mushroom pizza along with a side of penne alfredo and cheesy garlic bread. It was the perfect meal to end a long and fun day on the island. I suggest patio dining.

The food was amazing and very unique. The server was very nice. Will be back again for sure🍕💕

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time! We had a great anniversary dinner ! Walter was a great server and I hope we get him again.

My family and I are visiting florida for a week, and this has been the best food we’ve eaten so far. We just ordered a large pepperoni pizza, but it was absolutely delicious. When I went in and picked it up, everyone was super nice, I even talked to a ton of other customers who were also very nice, very approachable as well. I tipped, and the lady told me that people who dine in don’t even tip, which shocked me very much. I loved this place and would very much recommend it to everyone! — also something that was very cool, as soon as you walk in, you can see the cooks making the food behind the counter!

Been eating here for over a decade - the pizza is really great! I love the cozy booths/ambiance inside - I really really hope they never remodel (it's a bit dated in there) and decide to "modernize" the interior, as it would be a shame. Anyhow, I felt compelled to finally leave a review because I was recently there and not in a pizza mood, so I got the chicken marsala....and WOW! It is SO good, I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Love this place - it is an island staple!

At the recommendation of friends, we visited Oma's pizza and completely enjoyed ourselves! I don't know where or why the negative reviews for bad atmosphere - bad food - bad et cetera. Our hostess/server was very enjoyable! The building is a bit antiquated, but I take no marks away for that. Our seating area was clean, well lit, and comfortable. We were quickly seated,. We received our drinks immediately, and our orders were taken within 5 minutes of us being there. Our pies were delivered very quickly (piping hot) as well the order of ravioli. While the pies may not have been the best I've ever eaten...they were, no less, very delicious!

Went in on a Monday night and it was crowded. The wait was going to be 20 to 30 minutes so we decided to get a pizza to go. Response time was excellent! We had our pizza ready in less than 15 minutes including one large one small and some stuffed mushrooms. Took it home and had an incredible feast! Best pizza in the area! our whole group decided it was worth a second visit in the week while we are down here.

Me and my fiancée come to the island every year for the past 4 years I grab pizza at least 3 times for the 10 days we spend here and it has been consistently amazing every time we have it. My step daughter doesn’t like pizza and she eats it. Something different of a sauce sweet but not to sweet and an excellent crispy crust definitely worth the stop

Great food! Bad attitudes. Service mediocre. Decor needs updating and booths too. Warm inside, dust/spiderwebs on fake plants, lighting fixtures etc, duct tape on some seats. However the food is great! The male waiter was accommodating but the females we're grumpy and had attitudes. Main female on phone and said she doesn't have time to help us get seated and gestures for anyone else to seat us. Sat at booth and left to wait, had to flag down server who said it wasn't his table but he would take care of us. We debated on leaving but glad we stayed for the food. Italian dressing is amazing! Great cannoli. Delicious NY style pizza. Friend had muscles and said they were amazing and wanted to drink the sauce lol 👍

#2 on our pizza favorites (#1 in Las Vegas and #3 in Indy local). Eeked by #2 due to first ever sausage slices not chunks, fresh green pepper chunks not slivers, sauce almost like #3 and thinner crust than both competitors. Super garlic buttery bread (not sticks) is a unique winner and the meatballs meat ground soooo fine not lumpy. We've vidited the area 5 times and finally in off peak season so parked in their lot and had a pleasant lunch. The waitress was old and feisty but hey you expect that in an Italian joint. The decor exactly what I expected, felt like I was in NYC. Would visit again but not too soon as they claim to have the largest pizza and we have a lot of leftovers!

Sad to say, it’s taken us this long to visit this Bradenton Beach landmark. Kind of a dreary Saturday night weather wise but that didn’t stop this place from being packed. The staff was friendly and efficient and got us right in to be seated. Pizza toppings were fresh, the pie was hot and flavorful. It’s was outstanding. While we scored with a great spot, the parking situation is a little limiting. Having said that, persevere if you can’t find a spot and walk a little if you have to; their pizza is worth it. If you are visiting on vacation, make sure this place makes it on the list to eat at.

This is a wonderful restaurant, and they’ve been consistently providing the best pizza for so many years on Anna Maria. I love the entire vibe of the restaurant and it’s also great for takeout. Oma’s, Thank you for sharing your amazing food and giving me so many wonderful memories.

This place was really great! We ordered a giant pizza for about 14 to $16, and it was actually pretty good. We didn't realize how large it was going to be though. My five foot, 90 lb sister asked our waiter what he thought she should get, and he suggested to her $30 meal... That was literally three portions. I don't know if you suggested cuz it was actually his favorite, are he was just hoping for a bigger tip.... Either way it was a lot of food.

Stopped for lunch. Pizza was really good. Beer was cold. Service was friendly and quick. Decor is a little dated & dusty, but we were there for the food & we were happy. Would return again!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! My family of 6 & 4 of my husbands nieces ate here for dinner. Parking is rough, but we made it work. We get there & it's tiny, no one is wearing masks & the booths are SUPER close together. We told them we had 9 & a baby & they sat us in 2 tiny 4 person booths. We again told them this wouldn't work & they said we would just have to squeeze in. Trust me, not even close to an option. We asked if we could put a chair on the end of the booth & we couldn't as it was near a door. They ended up having another family get up & switch with us so we could sit in a spot that we could add a chair to the end of the table. The ENTIRE TIME all you hear is the employees fighting & cussing at each other! We had young kids there! The waitress spilled water on my niece (a lot) & never apologized or cleaned it up. The food was average & overpriced. Service was bad & again...ALL you hear is them fighting & cussing. Then she brings out the check (hand written) & we tell her "Oh, we needed these on 2 checks". She huffs & puffs & says "Seriously, I have to do it again!?" First of all, she should have asked before she brought it, but my husband was trying to be nice & said "maybe we can figure it out". She said "can't one of you pay with cash & just pay the other back"? SERIOUSLY!!!??? Then she proceeds to round it & tell us that theirs was about $30 (which was totally wrong) & said "Can't they just give you $30 in cash?" My niece finally finds some cash & we tell her we will put $30 in cash on it & I will pay the rest with my card. The menu said in multiple places that parties of 5 or more would automatically have gratuity included so I did NOT add a tip & honestly, they didn't deserve it! We leave & my oldest son & I are almost at the car when we see that the rest of our group is still in the parking lot talking to the waitress. SHE ACTUALLY CAME OUT TO THE PARKING LOT & ASKED IF THE $30 WAS FOR THE TIP BECAUSE THERE WAS NO TIP ON THE CARD!!!! By the time I walked back over there, my husband had borrowed some cash from my niece & paid them a tip (he paid my niece back). I WAS LIVID! He was trying to be nice & keep the peace but ALL OF US including my oldest son who was with us & is a server who is ADAMANT about tipping more than normal, agreed that they didn't deserve ANY tip! He said "I wouldn't have expected a tip at all". ABSOLUTE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!

1st time here recommended by a friend I ordered the Eggplant parmesan cane with salad garlic bread and noodles. Their sauce is rich and full of flavor. The eggplant was seasoned too deliciousness aka perfection. The portion is generous enough for two! Staff is super friendly and of course the best is always Family ran and owned. A must try!

I purchased a pizza for take out and signed th receipt for $16.24. After returning home and checking my bank statement I found I was charged $66.24. I immediately called the restaurant and was advised that someone would calle me back and I left my contact information. After receiving no response, I called back and talked to the owner who was extremely rude and uncooperative. He advised me that they did nothing wrong and did not even ask for any information about the transaction such as the ticket number or transaction date. He said there was nothing he could do and advised me to contact my bank which I already had. This was the worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant. TOTAL RIPOFF!

Recently, I've been going to a lot of pizza places. Unfortunately, this one didn't wow me. The portions were big, but the pizza is a little overpriced, especially the toppings. It was okay, luckily it's one of the only places on the island. Too greasy and expensive for me..sorry

Customer. Worst service, worst pizza I ever ate and worst experience I ever had eating in a restaurant. Cannot see how anyone would ever eat there twice.

American Pizza. As good as it gets. Not Italian, not cozy, fast food image. If there was a good nice stonefire place they store would go bankrupt in 5 minutes

I want this for my last meal..... This is the best pizza on the planet...bar none. I don't give a rat's behind about the service or the atmosphere my only concern is the food. This year we passed up our usual condo rental at Siesta Key to stay at Longboat because it was closer to Oma's. I love my wife, I love my child, but I love Oma's pizza more!

Great pizza. If you are craving legit pizza or other Italian specialties, this is the place. No commercial or food service junk here.

Worst run restaraunt ever. There is only one drink special which is $10 pitchers for one of two selections. They were out of one, so we went ahead and got Bud Lt. which they ran out of after two pitchers. They then wouldn't offer us a deal on bottles even though they couldn't honor their advertised special. We ordered appetizers, they brought us more than we ordered and then charged us for the extra because they were on the table. One of the three pizzas was completely forgotten and when we pointed it out, there was a few different excuses about why it was forgotten and how soon it was coming. It ended up taking over an hour (naturally the other five of us were done with our meals at this point) and two different servers told us we would have to pay for it anyway. One of the owners came out to our table after we asked several times, only to fight with us about when we placed the order and was not at all apologetic. One server felt bad and told us how cheap and rude the owners are, our server apologized but was in way over her head, didn't know much and was very forgetful, and the owner herself complained to us about our server saying she doesn't know much. The owner ended up comping the pizza that took forever and came out with the wrong toppings, but was clearly upset about it and not even remotely understanding about or terrible experience. Rude owners, unknowledgable wait staff and sub-par pizza. The only saving grace was the company which of course they had nothing to with, so think twice before you subject your friends and family to this place. I know we will never go back.

WORST EXPERIECE EVER!!!!!. Worst service I have ever had in my life!!! First took 15 minutes for a server to come to the table. Then we ordered water and beer for the family, got the beer and yet took her 15 minutes to bring us our water. THEN ordered our pizzas, which were THREE pizzas. When our food came out we only received TWO. We waited thinking it was coming right out, but when we asked the server where it was she looked at us like we were crazy, and said we ordered two only. She then looked at her paper and said, "Oh crap! Let me go check on that!" 15 minutes go by then the server came back and told us it would only take 5 minutes for us to get the other pizza. 45 MINUTES go by and we still haven't seen the third pizza!! When we asked to speak to the owner, the owner refused to come talk to us, and said they weren't taking the pizza off, which we had waiting over an hour for AFTER we had placed received the other two pizzas. ( Not to mention the rest of us were done with our meal, and the two others in our party had not even eaten). When the owner brought the pizza out she was very rude and did not care about the situation. OH and I forgot to add that they ran out of all the draft beer we had ordered for a second round, and would not let us do their 6 pack deal which was the same price. I am a server myself, and I have never ever EVER had such a bad experience, or seen a such TERRIBLE Owner in life. I really hope this stops people from going to this restaurant. They are very inconsiderate and rude people, and not by any means need to be running a restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very good food in a family-run establishment. Had the garlic cheese bread, which was good, and a large cheese pizza that took up almost half the table when they brought it out! I thought that there was no way the four of us could finish it, but it was so good that we couldn't stop! Even the waitress commented how quickly we ate.

Should be renamed OMG! Ordered 2 pizzas, a calzone and cheesy garlic bread. All the food was incredible! My picky 23 year old daughter said "this tastes just like grandma's sauce.". Can't wait to come back to Sarasota because this place is definitely a do-again!!!

WORST PIZZA & RESTAURANT EVER!. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE! WORST SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN A VERY LONG TIME!! We were vacationing in Anna Maria Island, FL and decided to order pizza on the beach and wanted to avoid the Dominos of the world and we wanted delivery so we could enjoy some dinner with the kids on the beach while taking in the sunset. What a disaster. We ordered 3 pizzas - it took almost hour and half to get them and when we got them open at the beach, all of them were not fully cooked. One had nearly raw mushrooms and onions on it and the mushrooms were disgusting. Pizza was worthless. I was so upset that I called. They tell me to drive the pizza down to their restaurant to get a refund!!!! Like I'm going to miss the sunset and leave the beach to return a worthless $20 pizza. Returned the pizza the next day just because I was so upset that these guys would do that. The owner was rude and condescending asking me "where the hell was I from to say their mushrooms weren't cooked." - Need I say more? Forget this place at all costs and find somewhere else to go... MAYBE LOSING BUSINESS BECAUSE OF BAD REVIEWS WILL WAKE THESE PEOPLE UP BUT I DOUBT IT. I HOPE THIS REVIEW CAUSES SOME TO SKIP OMA'S AND TAKE THEIR BUSINESS TO A RESTAURANT THAT CARES ABOUT IT'S CUSTOMERS/PATRONS.<br/><br/>BY THE WAY, THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE. Very Nice. The girlfriend was craving pizza, so we came here for lunch the day before yesterday. The place was cleared out by the time we got there. The staff was very attentive, kept our drinks refilled, answered our questions and otherwise left us alone. The Sicilian crust was very good and the tomato sauce they used was fresh and very nice. I'd most certainly come here again.

What a joke. Food was very average for the price. Totally rude at the counter. Incompetant, rude waitress. Mixed up our order. Only 1 refill on 2 dollar drinks. Spent 68 dollars total for a family of 5.

The portions are HUGE!!. Three of us decided to split a small pizza, an antipasto for 1 and each get a pasta dish. The small pizza was larger than a delivery large pizza, and it tasted fantastic. The crust was fantastic. <br/><br/>The antipasto had some of the freshest meats I've ever seen in one of those. Ham, Salami, and what tasted like Sopressata. The antipasto for one could have been for two. It was enormous. Also, the veggies and cheeses were incredibly fresh. I liked the touch of carrots as most antipasto don't have those.<br/><br/>I had the ravioli. Fantastic. A little too much cheese, but I can forgive that because they were six jumbo size. Enough for two meals alone. Each bite was tasty, and the marinara sauce it came in tasted super-fresh. <br/><br/>The other two I went with had seafood pasta dishes, and they said they were excellent. One raved about the calamari being fresh and not chewy. <br/><br/>It's a gem of a find. If you get a chance, try it. And it's pretty respectable price-wise especially considering where it is. I will definitely go back!!

This Place Rocks!. Thin crust was fantastic and they also have a Sicilian deep dish on the menu for the thick crust lovers. Gelato for dessert and then a walk on the beach...it doesn't get any better! Be prepared to wait a while if you come between 6-7.
