I live in California, but my favorite margarita comes from Red Mesa grill in Boyne City: a cucumber chili margarita on the rocks with salt. Their drink menu says it's made with strawberry purée, but I have them skip the berries — refreshing, with a tiny chili kick! I love this place!
I have never had a bad meal here! The fajitas were delicious as always. Usually I get the grouper tacos and those are always great too. Patti was our waitress. She’s a great waitress. Friendly and prompt. Great service.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Visiting from Lakeland Florida and first time visitor. Absolutely love the food. In Boyne Michigan you must come by for a bite. Our server Robin was extremely awesome. We will be back.

My cousin and I dined in on Independence Day. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately. The bar staff was on point giving us great suggestions, prompt service, and friendly chat.
Best atmosphere in Boyne City. Amazing food, great staff.. A lot of their staff has worked there for years and years and it really says something about the excellence of the company.

Our server was Austin. He is the whole reason why I wanted to write a review. This man needs to get a raise, employee of the month, and something else. He provided the best service I have seen in a while. He made us feel welcomed and not a bother when we asked for things. He was informative when we asked him questions about things. Thank you for being such an inviting warm and welcoming restaurant to eat.

I don't think their claim of "best margarita in Michigan" holds up (personal opinion), but that's a very bold statement. Margaritas are still very good.
If you're camping or skiing, this is a good stop for a break. The live music was not bad either.

We like this place. All our selections were good. They're very generous with chips and salsa. We were expecting Peter Jensen playing but he had cancelled 2: weeks prior. With advance notice of that info, we would have preferred not to drive at night. We still would have eaten at the Mesa, just way earlier.
We really enjoyed our meal and 3.00 Tuesday margaritas. Austin our server was great with a friendly, helpful personality.
Austin B was THE BEST server I have had in a very long time! He was so attentive and made sure our night was the best night and did not have to ask for anything as he was already on top of everything. He for sure deserves all the kuddos!
Red Mesa. At one point in time this was my favorite place to dine. I still DEEPLY miss the Mayan Flatbread tostada. That meal was AMAZING. Unfortunately, it hasn't been available for quite some time.
The atmosphere can vary greatly depending on the night and season. It's a great place for upbeat summer nights.
My picky husband loves the steak fajitas. I recommend the Armadillo Eggs! (Try them- they are delish!).
The piña colada is yummy, and tonight I had the black bean patties and they were very good as well.
I'm in this place several time a week! Love the food drinks and above all I love the service!
I have one waiter I always pick and I highly recommend while dining in this establishment by the name Austin he's great at his job very attentive to our needs and always knows his menu very well.

Our server Paula was very nice and helpful, she always had a smile. The food was very good, I was very impressed as I have been let down in the Latin American/Tex-Mex cuisine in the Midwest. The tacos were very good and the steak and chicken fajita was very tender. I would leave out the guacamole as it’s $3 extra for very little of it. Other than that, the prices are not bad at all and the food is delicious, highly recommend this restaurant.
We ordered take out (chicken fajitas) for 20 people for my Mom's celebration of life. Rice, bean, guac, pico and chips and salsa.
The food was amazing and there were 25 people in attendance. Everything was gone but a bit of chicken as there were several vegetarians and people raved about the food. Thank you to the manager Justin for all you and your crew put together for us. It was wonderful
Okay so the food and atmosphere were AMAZING. But the hostess was...Awful. Never have I had a person be so rude. Andrew was our server, he was wonderful!

I was skeptical about going to a Mexican restaurant as it's hard to find a place with authentic food that is not smothered in cheese. I'm glad we came to this restaurant. The food was beyond delicious 😋. The food was fresh, tasty, not smothered in anything, just great tasting food. I was so surprised. The prices were on point. The food came out pretty quick. The food was hot, very nicely plated, and very flavorful. This is a must visit restaurant! You will love it. I will certainly return when I'm back in this area. The only criticism that I have is that the staff needs more pride in their work and ownership. The restaurant floor was very dirty and with a lot of debris, nothing that a broom couldn't fix. When we came in we were standing there for about a min until someone acknowledged our presence and when we asked the waiter what was good, he said 'everything' and didn't suggest anything. I'm glad that we didn't let these small things turn us away from great food, if fixed this restaurant would be phenomenal. I would visit again!
The woman behind the bar was attentive and a breath of fresh air. Made an otherwise bad day a little better.
