A phenomenal experience. More than just a restaurant. From the waitstaff, to the sommelier, to the chefs, everyone was kind and welcoming. I came to this place with few expectations and was absolutely blown away. I've never had an experience like this in my life. They take such good care of you from the moment you come in, and really make you feel at home. The food was to die for. My date & I got the chef's tasting menu and did not have a regret. Every dish came out perfectly seasoned, balanced, and cooked. All of the components were properly portioned so the layers of flavors could each shine on their own, while simultaneously coming together to form, what I can only describe as, mouth-magic. Could not have been more satisfied with the experience, would recommend to any person; friend, relative, lover or foe. Thank you guys for making a truly amazing experience out of what could just be a place to get some grub.

My wife and I celebrated out 10th Anniversary weekend in Boulder and we purposefully choose the Black Cat because they promote their tasting menu. We are HUGE fans of chef's tastings, and The Black Cat was extraordinary. We both did the tasting menu and the premium wine flights. Never, ever, have I loved every course of a tasting menu. Not even Alain Ducasse's miX or Restaurant Kevin Taylor had courses that we loved 100% of. But Black Cat hit it out of the park. My wife and I loved everything we were presented with. We love new tastes and ideas, and every course had something we hadn't seen or tasted before, either alone or in combination with other ingredients. The service was superb, the somm was super friendly and knowledgable, and the vibe was fun and laid back, while still maintaining that sense that something luxurious and fine was happening. We love that. And this was on the 2nd day of Spring, and somehow all of the produce was still farm to table from their own Black Cat Farms. Blew my mind. I've been living in CO for years, and never thought we could grow year round. They just plant according to hardiness and adjust their recipes for the resulting smaller harvest. Black Cat is at the forefront of culinary experimentation in the world of farm-to-table cooking. They only use what they have, but they can do more than most with almost anything. For example: I hate lentils. At least I thought I did. Their lentil soup starter was so rich and earthy, and yet it had no cream to speak of. Maybe I don't hate lentils. Maybe I just hate how lentils have been prepared, because they showed up again later in the savory entree course sauteed, and they were fantastic again! Mise en place is clearly first and foremost at this amazing restaurant. We never waited a beat as the staff performed a perfectly choreographed ballet of sensory pleasure for us that night. As we finished one glass of wine and took the final bite, dishes would be whisked away, wine presented and new delicious treats appeared within moments. Pure delight.

We did the Chef's tasting menu and it was really good. And it was priced super well imo. The beer menu was decent as well. The food was all very good, I could go down each one, but apparently it changes so often that it wouldn't matter. Check out the pix though to take a look at it. And definitely get the chef's taster if that's your jam.

Everything was Perfect. One cannot fault anything on the tasting menu, at least the one we had. 6 courses (+1 for 7 courses for our Valentine's Day dinner) and I cannot isolate one as a favorite as all courses were unbelievably delicious and unique. For those complaining about price in reviews of this restaurant... forget about price because this is a restaurant where you go for amazing food and an amazing experience. $87 for the tasting menu is in my opinion a fantastic deal, because you know that you're getting the best that the chef has to offer. Furthermore, 6 courses at $87 equates to the price of a nice appetizer at a upscale restaurant. Of course the portions are smaller but it's a 6 course tasting menu, what do you expect. Don't be fooled by any if the reviews that are not five stars. Black Cat is superb.

Yup, loved it. Most delicious meal we've had in a long time! An amazing wine selection. We ordered an app, entree and desert. All three courses were great! The lamb chop was the best piece of meat I might have every put in my mouth. The ambiance is cozy and romantic. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. It was a great dining experience!!

Great high end restaurant. We went here as a group of 7 and were very pleased with the food and the offerings. Desserts were amazing. Pricey but good.

Black Cat is the more upscale sister restaurant to the Bramble and Hare, which is next door. My husband and I came here for my birthday and we were not disappointed. We tried the chef's tasting menu, where the chef chooses each of 6 courses (they do take into account dietary restrictions). Each dish was delicious! They were small portions but we were both full before the courses were done. We had a tomato based gazpacho, lobster, foie gras (not our fave but we are not foie gras level foodies), eggplant, sea bass, and salmon. We did ask at the beginning if dessert was part of the 6 courses and were told yes. What we didn't realize is that dessert is not counted as one of the courses, as in other restaurants we've visited. So if you do the tasting menu, keep in mind it's 6 courses plus dessert. They knew it was my birthday so they gave me a special dessert with chocolate, panna cotta, and BEETS! I've never had beets in a dessert before - it was SO GOOD! The wait staff and chef were all very attentive and friendly, and explained each dish as they came out. Definitely put this restaurant on your list of places to visit, you won't regret it.
