Our dining experience here was excellent! The menu doesn’t have too many options, but all the dishes are worth trying. My personal favorites were potato vareniki, chicken Kiev and cranberry & granola panna cotta. Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful, overall atmosphere in the restaurant is different from the restaurants in this area. Be aware it is pretty tough to find- entrance is located in the back of the building.

I went here in the middle of the day with my husband for a late lunch. I really enjoyed the meal. We ordered a borscht which comes with a pirozhok, which is like a savory puff pastry with meat inside (although they have a vegetable option as well). Both were really well flavored and the pastry was very crispy and fluffy, a rare find in the pastry world. We also ordered the smoked salmon blinis, which were very good. Blinis are not your typical crepes, they are slightly heavier and chewier, which is very satisfying with the sour cream and salmon. It’s always a pleasant experience to go to a restaurant that isn’t run of the mill, but has good food.

A Delightful Journey Back in Time Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the city, and I must say, it was an experience that left me utterly captivated. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was transported to a bygone era, a time of elegance, sophistication, and culinary delights. Allow me to share my delightful journey at this charming establishment. The first thing that caught my attention was the enchanting kitchen atmosphere. It exuded a nostalgic aura, taking me back to the days of grand dining halls and lavish banquets. The attention to detail was impeccable, with vintage decor, elegant chandeliers casting a soft glow, and beautifully set tables that evoked a sense of timeless elegance. The lady owner's touch was evident in every corner, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that was both cozy and refined. The menu, oh, the menu! It was a culinary masterpiece, offering a selection of Russian fare that was truly a feast for the senses. Each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing the rich flavors and traditional techniques of Russian cuisine. From the hearty borscht and tender beef stroganoff to the delicate pelmeni and indulgent caviar, every bite was a revelation. The infusion of vodka with various flavors added a unique twist to the dining experience, providing a perfect complement to the sumptuous dishes. To further elevate the atmosphere, a talented pianist graced the establishment with their melodic tunes. The classical music filled the air, intertwining with the clinking of glasses and the laughter of delighted patrons, creating an atmosphere of enchantment and refinement. It was a true symphony of culinary delights and soul-stirring melodies. But what truly sets this establishment apart is the personal touch of the lady owner. Her passion for hospitality and her commitment to creating an unforgettable experience for her guests shone through in every aspect of the evening. She effortlessly made everyone feel like a welcomed guest in her own home, ensuring that every need was met with grace and warmth. In conclusion, my visit to this establishment was nothing short of magical. The kitchen atmosphere, with its nostalgic charm and elegant setting, took me on a journey back in time. The Russian fare, infused vodkas, and live piano music added layers of delight to an already exceptional experience. To the lady owner, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for creating such a haven of beauty, taste, and hospitality. If you're seeking a dining experience that transports you to a world of elegance and grace, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to this extraordinary establishment. Prepare to be enchanted, indulge in exquisite cuisine, and let the melodies of the pianist sweep you away. You won't be disappointed. Once again, my sincere thanks to the lady owner for curating such a memorable and beautiful experience. Visited: July 2023

Authentic Eastern European cuisines served in a rustic vibe. My friend and I came here a while ago to try authentic Russian fares. As expected, we were the only English-speaking group at the restaurant, but our server was very welcoming and accommodating. It seemed like there were several groups coming in to celebrate special occasions, and we were fortunate to enjoy live piano throughout the evening. We shared a couple of apps and a soup, and I had the sturgeon tzar with Russian kasha for the entrée. Served with a side of sour cream, both the blintze and the pirozhok were good, but the latter pulled ahead as a winner. Wrapped in a crispy baked pastry, the meat pirozhok was very flavorful, and I especially liked pairing it with the traditional beet-based soup - borscht. Sturgeon was also a nice surprise, and I liked that its texture was a bit similar to that of cod. Overall, our experience at Cafe St.Petersburg was definitely far from typical dining experience in Boston. Nevertheless, we really liked the feeling of being transported to a local restaurant in a small Eastern European country, and I would highly recommend giving them a try.

I tried borscht for the first time here, and it's still one of the best things I've ever eaten. It was warm, comforting, and so flavorful. I also got the chicken shashlik, which was perfectly cooked and very filling!

My fiance and I had a wonderful experience here last night! Although there was a party in the other room the staff was helpful and accommodating. For food we started with both meat & cabbage Pirozhok which were gone in an instant. For the entrees we had the Pozharski Cutlet and Beef Stroganoff. Both were very filling and absolutely delicious. Lastly their infused vodka was a special treat we tried the Jalapeño Honey and the Cranberry. We are definitely coming back!
