Review Myung Dong 1st Avenue - Boston

Have gone here multiple times over many years and I love the vibe and the food is always good. I got the short ribs this past time and they were SO good. The bibimbap was good, but I’ve had better and the soy wings were good as well. Will definitely return, though looking to try some of the other Korean spots in the neighborhood first.

Aesthetic of the place is very nice, cozy, and chill. Great songs and so many TVs to easily see the MV from any seat. All staff were very nice and friendly and very helpful when I had a specific request that was kind of troublesome on their part, so I thank them for that. The food was great and the drinks were very yummy as well!

Great selection of tasty items, I especially recommend the bean paste stew!

Good service and food, but they should include more pictures on the menu so I know what are those dishes...They play Korean music all the time, but sometimes I felt it’s kind of noisy, my stomach is vibrating along with the beats, I’m not joking!!! Maybe lower the volume a little bit and that’ll be better. [Okay so here’s the update. I went there 3 more times after I wrote this review and found they did adjust the music style and the volume so it’s comfortable now.] The prices match its value, hot pots are good for cold winter. However, the seasoning of many dishes are quite the same style, you may want to have some refreshing drinks to refresh your tastes.

Pretty good Korean food for Allston. The inside has a lot of seating, and the hosts were attentive and fast at bringing out food. The boodae jungol ($35) was plenty for 2 people. It tasted good at the beginning, and then, it got very salty when the cabbage absorbed all the salt. We split a watermelon pitcher (sort of like carafe sized), and it was not very strong ($25) but fresh and watermelon tasting. The actual watermelon is $45. Prices were okay. I think the food is more reasonably priced than the drinks, about $16 per soju bottle and group drinks range from $20-45.

wow, simply a pristine experience. udon was quite healing, and the bulgogi full of protein. MIJI, our server, cares about us a lot, and let us know she does not prefer the hot sake. we tried it anyways and it was good but we appreciate the honestly. she was SO delightful and kind. lots of little guys on the side. we're powered to party now! thanks myung dong! cute sake carafe too.

I thought the place was nice. It was very super Korean themed than I thought, but I enjoyed the service. The tables were small, but they allowed us to move to a better spot. The food was also really good.

This is an excellent basic Korean restaurant with options from bulgogi to bibimbap. K-Pop plays across the restaurant so be ready for that. It does add to the vibe. Pleasant, cheerful service and the food is affordable and tasty. A win in my book.

Cool place nice atmosphere. The soju was excellent. The lighting is nice and the staff is attentive. Can't speak to the food but the drinks are reasonably priced and you can't beat the area. Would recommend the pomegranate soju. Overall a great place for some drinks

This place is great for birthdays or an event that is suitable for a high energy "party" type vibe. They have music videos going costantly that play at a pretty loud volume. I go here every year for my birthday, and it's always a blast. Great drinks, great apps, and dishes that feed 3+ people so the table can share. That being said, I would not go here if you are not looking for an energetic atmosphere, ie business meeting, quiet dinner, etc etc. This venue is not suitable.
