Come to this place for authenticity, historical value, and good service.
I came to visit Boston for a few days and before then I compiled a list of restaurants I wanted to go visit. Unfortunately, things didn't go how I wanted them to, so on my last day in Boston I decided to go out with my mom to see what I'd stumble into. My mom pointed this place out to me and we decided to eat here.
The restaurant was out of supplies, but Anna made do with what she had and she treated us as if we were longtime friends. My mom and I greatly enjoyed the time we spent with Anna and being able to hear from a longtime Boston resident. I'm sure that there are better restaurants out there, but Sal's Lunch offers what others don't.
Had steak and eggs and hash browns with Italian toast bread only 12 I paid 20 this sweet old woman definitely deserved a tip food was excellent
$8 for any plate. Authentic as it comes. Had a good chat with Anna who prepared our food. Also with Mickey, her 92 year old neighbor who watched this neighborhood transform from factories to restaurants. They accents are even wonderfully hard to understand. I got the meatball marinara sub and loved it. Cool experience.
Looking for a lunch place with character, try Sal's. Sandwich was good, bread was excellent.
Awesome authentic place for breakfast! Anna's cooking won't disappoint! 😋
