So, flat out, the food was phenomenal.
The flavor was fresh, authentic to Thai standard, and everything mixed very well. Not too much of any one flavor, everything intermingled beautifully.
The thing I want to highlight overall was the portioning. For what you pay compared to other restaurants these days, the portion is outstanding. Absolutely amazing.
There was enough where I was full and could've still taken half home, but I decided to stay and fit the rest in as it was a nice atmosphere.
To find a place that gives you more than you paid for is a rare situation these days, and this place excelled in that regard.
The taste alone is on par with any other Thai location, but the price/portion is above the rest.
** Only negative I would mention is the Thai iced tea tasting a bit too creamy and being a little expensive for the quality/portion you get, but that's not really anything different from elsewhere, nowadays Thai tea is expensive.
Yummy yummy yummy 😋 thank you for a delicious lunch that's priced right.
No frills as in you order at the counter, they call your number, you get your food, and clean off your own table... But the good was wonderful!!!
Kao Nah Ped, which is the duck rice plate with thick sweet soy sauce over Chinese broccoli and a hard boiled egg was my favorite dish from here for years. There was an employee who would tease me about getting the same dish every time. I miss her. Nowadays, there are younger employees who speak better English, but they don't have the magic like the older lady. Kah Prao with pork is also a dish I like. It's minced meat with basil. The soups, salads, desserts are great tasting as well. Reasonable prices and quick service. Customers bus their own tables. I first came to Nud Pob in 2001 when it was in a different location on Comm Ave, about - block east. Customers had to walk down stairs into a very cramped space. This location is such an improvement in terms of space, seating, and temperature, and the place takes credit cards now, just not amex.
A true gem in the middle of the BU campus. Nothing beat stopping by and picking up dinner after a long study session or a string of back to back classes. I’ve given them a lot of my money and I won’t stop because the food is always flavorful and fragrant. I definitely recommend the staples like Pad see ew and the Indonesian fried rice, but if you’re a fiend for spice the Crispy chicken basil is absolutely addicting. But not only is the food great the waits are short. Despite the line that often reaches the door and the packed seating area the kitchen churns out quality food at an incredible pace.
Fuss-free dining of thai food here! Lots of options to choose from and so many different things to try. I had the crispy pork basil the first time I went there and it was truly a great lunch! Pad thai and pineapple fried rice also looks really good. Have to come back for more again!
Hands-down most authentic Thai food in Boston. What's also great is that besides the "Americanized" versions of things, their menu lists ingredients and varying spice levels for those wanting more authenticity or a more adventurous palate (they even have a "traditional" Thai noodle dish that has a sign saying you need to eat it in-house, because it's so packed with raw chilies and chili oil.) Prompt delivery, no frills eat-in restaurant but it's extremely fast service and very clean. Never had a bad order from here, and a lot of the pad thai dishes are large enough for two people.
Anyone in BU has visited this place at least once. Students, professors, and staffs all come here to enjoy genuine Thai cuisine at a reasonable price. Definitely coming back!
As a BU student Nud Pob was my saving grace after a long day. Now as a BU grad I still frequent this local joint not just for the nostalgia but for the bussin’ food. My go-to is the pad see ew with crispy chicken basil. It’s just amazing. Also the thai iced tea is some of the best I’ve had in the city. Top tier place
BU staple that has extended well into my adult life now. I come with my wife for dinner occasionally. Entrees are usually two servings worth so we have lunch the next day. Family run with nice staff. Quality is great!
Most restaurants, you pick two of three: low price, good food, large portions. Of the thousands of restaurants I have been to, this is truly the only exception. Superior service from the lovely family, excellent food, low prices, and portions that will last you for several days. I live all the way in Los Angeles and I make a point to come here every time I’m home. Worth a flight.
