Moko is my safe space for sushi. Casual and homey and delicious. Owners are sooo friendly, sushi is good quality and great value, restaurant itself is so cozy for eating in, take out is always super reliable! My favorites are the sushi regular combo or deluxe, southie roll, hamachi maki, and ikura sushi.

I love Moko! While it is not actually a hidden gem (they are consistently busy with takeout orders) the real gem is their restaurant itself! You can easily grab a table most nights and get to enjoy their delicious food and awesome wait staff. They always play good music as well! Their new truffle toro roll (pictured) is amazing and hopefully will stick around on their menu for a long time. Always a 10/10 at Moko.

It was late, just arrived after a long drive to Boston with my daughter and both of us wanted something healthy to eat before bed. We arrived an hour before close. Service was attentive and caring. Despite the late hour a few other patrons were enjoying the food and atmosphere as well. Moko is easy to find as it is right on the corner. The place is smallish (intimate some would say). It is appropriately furnished and does not feel cramped. There are two small bars, one for sushi, the other for cocktails. If you are into sports, there are 2 large televisions to catch your eye. But the real draw is the food. I did not have high expectations and was happily surprised how good the food was! I had the sashimi regular while my daughter had the udon. The sashimi was preceded by miso soup and that was when I knew we were in for a treat. It was so yummy! Really, if all I wanted was that, I would go to Moko to get it. And the sashimi was fantastic as was its presentation. The only thing missing were the leaves, but they are probably hard to get here. My daughter had the udon, which took a minute to arrive. But when we saw the bowl we understood why. It was larger than expected, artistically prepared, and smelled fantastic. Although she was unable to consume it all, she reported that it was 'tasty! ' I did have a sip at the end of the meal and can say the broth was on par with the miso soup. Yummy! So would I recommend this place to a hungry, tired traveler? A resounding Yes!

It’s one of those places where it makes a difference which day of the week you go. It’s good. It could have been a bit better. The atmosphere isn’t great, but it’s small, so not sure what you could do with it. Servers friendly and helpful.

The sushi at moko is great! Love their spicy tuna specialty rolls and avocado salad. Atmosphere is quiet but cozy. Definitely not where you want to go on a night out. Overall, I would recommend for good sushi in Southie!

Moko is great. Good sushi, quiet restaurant (for Southie), and the prices are very fair. My wife and I eat there about once a month and both the host and server recognize us. Their staff are friendly and super efficient.

Amazing service, amazing food, music volume is just. This place for how fresh the fish is and how good the service/food has no business being in Southie. A must visit.

Quality sushi and amazing staff. We've been eating here weekly since moving to South Boston and love our 'Moko Mondays!' Always willing to save our favorite seats at the bar for game nights too :)

Delivery driver moved his car so we could park right outside. The staff was very friendly and the sushi was exceptional. We ordered a variety of sushi and rolls and were not disappointed. Price was great. Wish we lived closer!

Absolute hidden gem sushi spot. The katsu and bi bim bap are also excellent and the steamed shu mai is some of the best I've had anywhere. Take out is always speedy, but eating in is very nice as well.

It’s been a while since I was here, the food was excellent and service was good enough. I think it’s a family run operation but I’m not sure, the owner I presume was hospitable and I felt the food was priced well. The beverages were a wee bit overpriced but you can always just stick to soda. I have been here with my friend, sister and partner bit at different times. We walked so I am unsure about parking.

My boyfriend and I have gone here for over 2 years. They have the best sushi in Boston,BUT the real reason we continue to come back is for MAE . She is the sweetest person and makes us feel like family every time!! We are so happy to have found this place. Saki saki bomb
