I love everything about the Plow and am sad to see it close. Boston is losing a lot of these "Boston" bars where real Bostonians can go in and know the manager, bartender, etc. it's a true shame for the City to lose this establishment. Good luck to Freddie and all the folks that have made is place so special.
What happened to the regulars from the 1970's & 1980's?
.
Came in here on a Friday night to get a drink drink with friends and almost missed it if I didn't look hard enough. My friends wanted to meet at the bar "under Ned Devine's" and some ended up at the bar inside Faneuil Hall under the stairs but this place is even further below that which might be hard to miss. I was thinking it would be a real dive bar but was really surprised to see it was pretty nice on the inside. The bar staff was really friendly and the drinks weren't overly expensive. There was plenty of room at the bar to sit and they had seating around the edges as well. Unfortunately the kitchen closes pretty early (I think around 10 or 11) so we didn't get a chance to try any of the food, but overall I would come back when going out in the area and not wanting to stand in line like all the other places in the area.
Great garden level pub if you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Fanueil Hall.
Food won't knock your socks off but will satisfy any hunger.
They open up outdoor seating in the summer for one of the best people watching spots in the city.
