This place has not changed one bit since I was a kid....and it is a welcome feature. There's a great comfort in coming here when I'm in my old neighborhood...where everything has changed and all the old hangouts of my youth are gone. There are a few wait staff that have been there for years. The food is good and prices reasonable. The only reason I gave atmosphere a couple of points off is because I know not everyone will go there with an eye for nostalgia, but in my eyes it's beautiful.

Family friendly place with amazing food and an old school atmosphere, and a free dedicated parking lot across the street. My grandparents went on dates there and nothing has changed. Some of the best pizza you can get in the Boston area, *definitely* the best thin crust. Staff are friendly and accommodating, local legend is that some Irish brothers bought the place from some Italian brothers and promised never to change a thing, including the recipes. Place is divided into three sections, giving it a cozy feeling: booths, bar, and a function room in the back. Take out/dine in only, and still 10/10

This is the type of retro townie restaurant I absolutely love. It reminds me of somewhere my grandparents would have dined. The service is top notch and the food is really good. It’s not the best food I’ve ever had but it was still delicious and they have a varied menu so plenty to choose from. Go on Friday for the clam chowder — it was the star of the show.

The waitresses are lovely old ladies that are absolutely phenomenal. The food is solid and very affordable.

Been coming here since I was a kid and recently came here for lunch with my wife's side of the family. Love everybody here and I got the eggplant parm. It's very tasty and it is one of my go-to meals. I won't ever stop coming back.

I was pleasantly surprised! I haven't been here in years because I felt it was not good then. I heard that the food was good and gave it a try. I will be back! Super quick and friendly service. I got chicken parm (came with a salad!!) and garlic bread, holy moly so good. It hit the spot. I should have ordered more garlic bread for home. Portion sizes were big. I had lunch the next day!

If you are looking for thin crust, just what you need pizza...this is the spot. Nothing fancy for sure...but you will be pleasantly surprised. We have come here for 30 years...defines neighborhood place. We return even though we are no longer in the neighborhood.

so here is what you get - nice food, generous cocktails, comfortable atmosphere, quick and super friendly wait staff and did i mention the nice food ;-) there is also a huge parking lot across the street and a good amount of on-street parking.
what i have never got - attitude, bad food or unfriendly attention.
i suggest popping in if you are in the neighborhood...this is a great spot!!

Hey next time I order a pizza , it would be nice if you didn’t hand me a pizza that’s been sitting out for around an hour. It was hard as cardboard and warm at best. Actually don’t want to eat it. Usually really good pizza. Really unfortunate , I thought I found my pizza spot. Guess not

Been living in the JP Dedham area since 1993. And this was my first visit. But it will NOT be my last. We ate dinners veal, prime rib, and such. So we took a roni and sausage pizza to go. A pizza we thought we would have for lunch. It didn't make it that far. I'm sad to announce the passing of that Pizza.

Grew up just a short walk away and knew the original owners/founders as well as the longest serving bartender, George Pirelli, who spent 55 years patrolling behind the bar. Place rocks for pizza and their open-faced veal cutlet sandwich. Only drawback is they don't start serving pizza until 4 pm. Waitresses can hold their own with any from Durgin Park, another Boston institution...worth the trip!

Great pizza but best to order take out. Service in dining area is poor, several waitresses looked our way/passed by us - eventually walked out after no one served our table (the doorman actually thanked us for dining with them and to come again as we walked out!)

visiting the Pleasant cafe was indeed one of the highlights of our trip, all the way from Norway :-) the place itself was like walking into a movie. The owner took his time to welcome us himself, and the waitresses were smiling and went out of their way to make us feel right at home...our food came in portions large enough to feed an army....not to mention the fabulous cheesecake I had for dessert...Thank you for a great night

I've been going to the Pleasant since I was 16 or so when I first got my license. I grew up in Roslindale so it was a no brainer. I still love this place because it has stayed the same after some 45 years. The food is as awesome as I remember and the memories of this place are priceless. I try to get here at least 2 or 3 times a year.
