Wasn't expecting to like the food here so much since it felt a little pretentious but the food was so good. Loved the oxtail chow fun but the pork cutlet was also really good as well!

We enjoyed every dish here! The Bone Marrow appetizer was phenomenal. My son and brother both love their entrees. Small-medium portions, but very flavorful and delicious.

Probably the best spot in Boston for legit Chinese food. The lettuce wrap with beer, fried squid, fish, and beef stew are always a must!
The fried dumplings are huge. You can bring your own fish here and they'll cook it for a price - absolutely delicious. Just a slight premium at like $15.
Every time I come back to Boston, I always eat here. Highly recommended.

A quiet relaxing upscale restaurant in chinatown. Only an eight minute walk to the Emerson colonial theater. The shrimp and walnuts, oxtail chow foon and Moo shu duck were all excellent. The plum cocktail was good. Especially nice ambience with good music at a comfortable volume. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I will definitely return and this is something I can't say about most restaurants in the theater district.

Came here for the name of Shojo restaurant, which is one of my favorite. Like the food here, which is more traditional than Shojo, and the drink menu is certainly interesting.

This place is really good. Easy to appreciate and friendly staff. Music is modern and atmosphere is very comfortable.

A hidden gem in china town! Romantic atmosphere. Very nice staff. A nice twist to traditional chinese food.

Solid spot for dinner in Chinatown. A friend and I got dinner there on a whim on a Friday night, and they were able to seat us immediately (right near the door which slammed shut at a really alarming volume--the manager said they were getting a new hydraulic arm).
They say to order a few dishes for the table, so we got a scallion pancake appetizer, shrimp and honey walnut main, and duck main. The scallion pancakes were good, not great. They didn't have much of a taste, and the sauce didn't add to it. The main courses, though, were a different story. Both were big, flavorful dishes. Although they came out at completely different times, the flavors were there.
The manager and waiter were both very personable and made the experience that much better. Prices weren't too bad as well--I think we spent around $45 for both of us with no drinks. Great option for food in Chinatown.

AMAZING!!!! Cannot wait to come back. Hazy out waitress was amazing and so knowledgable. We got the oxtail chow fun, pork belly stir fry and roasted bone marrow. We were two people on our anniversary and had the best experience. We made a reservation I would recommend since it's a smaller restaurant.

Was really great food all around. Loved my eggplant dish and thought all the others I tried were excellent too. Cool ambiance too. Would be a great NYE dinner spot. Super small so tough to get in during busier dinner times.

Amazing place for dinner! The bone marrow is definitely a must. We also ordered the oxtail chow fun, Duck Confit Mooshu, and the lamb which were all nicely sized portions. The cocktails were super yummy and so cutely presented. When the bill came out we were shocked at how cheap it was!

Place was great, nice little spot for me and my friends to go. Food was tasty and service was fast. The best part though had to be the music. I was absolutely jamming to 80s songs during my whole meal. I'm so glad I found Shojo on Seated!

It has been said before but the Bone marrow is not to be missed. Even if you think you don't like the idea of Bone marrow it is worth a try. All the dishes we have had have been significantly above the bar, good depth and range of flavor with creative uses of ingredients you though you knew. I also recommend the house cocktails which are so clever that I hardly miss the days when this little spot was BYOB. Don't let the basement entrance fool you this place is one of best spots in Chinatown.

Food is amazing!! Nice atmosphere as well. I went for dinner with my wife and we shared the oxtail chow fun, pork belly stir fry, and the wings. All were really really good!!

Excellent updated takes in classic Chinese dishes. The space had been updated to make it's basement spot look as good as it can, but it was very chilly in there. Almost needed to eat with my coat on. Food was delicious.

This place was awesome. The decor was nice, light level was good. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. My friend is gluten free and they provided us with all the options they had and even offered to change the way an item was cooked to accommodate. Delicious, would recommend

Great small plates in a cozy but comfortable atmosphere. Delicious duck and shrimp. Walls are decorated with Mah Jong pics and pieces. Service is very friendly. I'm glad I made reservations, because there were usually a couple of people waiting, and this was on a Wednesday.

I agree with the reviewers who described it as a higher end of Americanized Chinese food in the heart of Chinatown. Good but very little "opinion" in the flavor profile. The Sichuan bolognese probably provided the most zip after the seasonal vegetables. Ma Po Tofu was surprisingly bland. I'm used to it making my nose run. Pepper beef was flat and a little tough. Spicy chicken had really good flavor and kick. Meatballs interesting but more of a novelty than a go to dish for Asian spice and flavor. Wish I had room for the bone marrow which looked amazing but my guests we repulsed by the thought. Service was excellent. I'd love to be able to compare with Shojo.

We recently had a small group event at BLR, and our experience was wonderful! The food was delicious, drinks were nice and cold, everyone, from the owner to manager to our wait staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a tasty and friendly restaurant in Boston Chinatown!

We had a reservation for 6 people on a Friday and nothing bad to say. The food was fantastic! The mushrooms were by far the best. The mushrooms were to die for. We tried about 10 different things and they were all great! Hleey was fantastic!!!!

Love this place. Some of the best food in Boston and the best Chinese food I've had.
Marion Crawford
Excellent authentic Chinese food with helpful efficient staff - arguably the best Chinese meal I"ce tasted - don't be put off by the lack of an alcohol licence, the food more than makes up for it!

Fantastic food, excellent and attentive staff. Very small and cozy. Max of like 30 patrons.

had some amazing chicken wings, and the szechuan bolognese was solid as well

Bone marrow is superb...spread it on the scallion pancakes.
