Food is amazing!!!! Great staff and cozy and hip atmosphere. Certainly has become one of my favorite places to go in the city!
I visit Boston often from Milwaukee and try to always find time for the Franklin cafe. Yummy drinks and meals. Friendly staff. Never a bad experience. Great music
All three of us got the cod. All three of us LOVED the cod! all three of us will get the cod again. ...and the tuna tartar ...and the warm cabbage salad ...and the muscles. Did I say we loved the cod?
Delicious food and the staff, although delicious as well, we're amazing! 😜😬
Absolutely amazing food and service! We each ordered something different so we could share and each meal was a winner! Personally, the Turkey Meatloaf with Figs was my favorite.
Terrence provided great recommendations and was super friendly! Have already told several people about Franlin Cafe. Can't wait til my next visit.
Amazing staff and food and drinks... amazing place
The drinks and food were delicious!
The calamari was incredible. The service was friendly and attentive.
The corned beef was featured by Scott Conan on "The Best Thing I ever Ate." It was really good. Looking forward to having tbe rest for lunch tomorrow!
Food is always good and the cocktails inspirational
GO. This is THE place for evenings in Gloucester. Skip water views after 7 -- and RESERVE your table at the Franklin Cafe!!!! The BEST culinary experience, fantastic bar, engaging servers, and wonderful live music that enhances conversation and laughter. Not to mention, if you have the privilege as Aunty Roe and I did to meet the beautiful owner, Maria Seniti-Figurido. (shout out to resident "Brent" who shared a wealth of info with us too!) STOP reading. RESERVE now. Dinner. Drinks. A date. Girls' night. Or just, treat yourself. Truly a special place.
From "soup to nuts" it was a wonderful experience at Franklin Cafe.
Best neighborhood bar restaurant in the South End always consistent great food and cocktails
Delicious brunch!!! I ate here last Sunday with my daughters, aged 4 and 9. We enjoyed several delicious dishes. Great music, great service, low key vibe. Definitely going back!
Food we ordered starting with favorites first:
Corn beef hash and eggs
New England apple cider donuts
Breakfast sandwich
Yogurt and berries
Farm Benedict with spinach
Yum!
What a great spot, one of the first I've been to since moving to Boston with this vibe and atmosphere. It is a slightly darker ambiance with great music, and excellent service.
The food is fantastic. The grilled calamari is one of the best items I've had in the city, and their take on pierogi is also excellent. The spicy green beans are really worth trying, and the ravioli are tremendous.
Will definitely be back, hard to imagine being disappointed by anything on the menu
Needed an after dinner cocktail and this place was recommended by our restaurant we ate at. Somewhat crowded as we entered while the bar had a few people standing in front of barstools. I asked if we could sit there and they abridged. 2 old fashions and a couple of cocktails and off we went. The bartender was very friendly and fun to talk too. Although we didn’t have food, it’s a nice little place to stop by if in the area. BTW, drinks very affordable 😀
Phenomenal customer service and the food is high-quality. My food was cooked just right. What you see in the pictures that they advertise is exactly how the food looks in person. I didn’t feel like I needed to modify anything. Customer service is amazing. They are good at accommodating those with allergies. The café is very sanitary. I feel safe eating there again. I highly recommend. I have had takeout and I dined in.
I enjoyed the lavender-honey glazed salmon with lentils and the smoky skillet roasted mussels were so tasty we even sucked on the shells! Good to be back on the street where I grew up. The slow burn was good too. Our waitress Sofie was super attentive.
First time here (Aug 2022)
Nice neighborhood bar/restaurant
A little wait for the cocktails
And unfortunately not a lot of wines by the glass
Wings were delicious
Steak frites was great (lots of fries!!)
The sole meuniere was mediocre and I would not recommend that
Would overall recommend the place
I'm was visiting from another state... I enjoyed it!
Haven't been there in years but it was fantastic. I just wish you would invest in some sound dampening materials. Soooooooo darn loud!!
Amazing service, particularly for my food allergies. Lovely outdoor dining out in front of the restaurant, though weather permitting without even umbrellas available. Trees provide shade to certain tables. And the food was good too – enjoyed the chicken with 20 cloves!
Pretty crowdy and of course noise place for late night snacks and drinks.
Nevertheless food and cocktails were very good.
Very nice intimate atmosphere. My girlfriend got the steak frites, which was incredible, and I had the catfish which was also very good. The chefs are very nice, bartenders are super friendly, the host was very accommodating and helpful, and our server was very attentive and friendly as well! The only thing though, is if you want a nice dining experience, go earlier in the night. It gets very loud because of the bar around 10 PM. Great overall!
Love this place. Servers are fantastic. Atmosphere is chill and comfortable. Kitchen is open late. Stop by after every show in Boston.
Serves good food late. $12 for 2 pork belly tacos, $7 bucks for a generous, tasty portion fries. Serving until 1:30am. Friendly enough. Cramped bar space. But, want a late night but that's about a burger - this'll do the trick! But just 4 stars - liked it fine didn't love it.
I’ve been going to this place for over 15 years now and it never disappoints. A true gem in Boston
Cute/cosy neighborhood spot. Excellent food. Good cocktails. Friendly service.
One of the best burgers I’ve had, unfortunately was really difficult to talk to my girlfriend throughout dinner because the acoustics suck, wasn't really even busy but was very loud
