Review Porto - Boston

Branzino and the Mushroom Pasta were spectacular. Would definitely come back again just to order these two dishes. We ended with the Chocolate Cookie dessert which was the perfect amount of sweetness. Hostess was super accommodating by letting us sit at the bar on a busy Saturday night. Elegant atmosphere

The Branzino was the best I've tried anywhere. Excellent wine selection, and some interesting options like kambucha with 6.9% alcohol. The Mushroom Pasta with Truffles was very mildly flavored, and according to our guest who ordered it, he wouldn't order it again. The service was seamless and outstanding.

Oh so delicious! Our server was also fabulously attentive and helpful with ordering a family style meal for our party of 5. One of us is slightly allergic to fish (me), but the rest of my party was able to eat all the fish dishes and said it was delicious. I had more than my fill of the mushroom pasta which was SO GOOD! We kept eating and eating but it was hard to put a dent in the portion we got! The cookie dessert was good, as well as the tiramisu. We were there during a heat wave (90 degrees in September?! Whyyyy?!) - so we sat inside which was a little noisy & busy on a Thursday evening, but we had a blast!! Would come again.

Food: Wild Mushroom Mafalde (roasted wild mushrooms, garlic butter, aleppo pepper) Drink: White Sangria (pinot grigio, apricot brandy, tea syrup, lemon bitters, soda water) & a shot of the Watermelon Gimlet (Tanqueray gin, watermelon, lime, dill) *I think this was the one but they have 2 watermelons drinks* Ambiance: Busy, elegant Parking: There is street meter parking nearby, but it can be difficult to get a spot. There is also a parking garage right near the restaurant but you have to pay. The restaurant will validate your ticket. Pricing: Pricey Food (flavors): I did not get a picture of the bread and oil but I loved it! The bread was super soft and savory, and I normally don’t like my bread dipped in oil BUT I loved the taste of the oil that Porto provided. The pasta dish was fine. The pasta noodles were cooked well and I loved the texture and flavor of the mushrooms, but I would’ve liked the dish more if the flavors weren’t so subtle. I needed more garlicky and fatty flavors in the dish. Portion size: medium-large Drinks: I LOVED the white sangria. I love sweet cocktails but this wasn’t overly sweet and the soda water added a nice touch. This drink reminded me of an aperol spritz but better. It was overall just a nice combination of flavors. The shot had a super fresh flavor. I am not a fan of drinks that taste super fresh; I prefer drinks on the sweeter side. If you like fresh drinks, you should try this one. Update 8/5: new shared plates main course … very good… not a lot of food barely enough for 2 people ($100). You need to ask for a lot of bread(very good focaccia). Tuna tartare is extremely small not worth for $25. DO NOT take any table outside seating on the coach …. Very uncomfortable and very low… you have your chin on the table. Good food … a little bit overpriced … good service…. Can’t wait to have the outside seats available. Running out of dishes sometimes: branzino is quickly sold out. Note: they should serve bread or pita … this is mandatory if you are a Mediterranean resturant! Also bring back the antipasto board ASAP…. It was fantastic! New Pictures below

The service was truly exceptional and the lamb chops were simply delicious. I particularly enjoyed the calamari, which was prepared to perfection. To top it off, the outdoor atmosphere was simply delightful, making for a truly memorable dining experience.

This place is pretty awesome. The location and food are both OUTSTANDING! We ordered the lamb chops (extraordinary) and the branzino (deliciousness). The vibe is high, the crowd is perfect and it’s just an overall great vibe. Average entree is about $40. Drinks are about $15 per glass. I highly recommend!

Porto was fresh, delicious and well worth the bill! Their menu was diverse and well-done. It has meat, seafood, vegetarian options and it just seems to have something for everyone. Their staff paid a great attention to detail and the service was excellent. Their food is fresh, local and perfectly done! There is no parking, and reservations would be recommended. I would highly recommend Porto for a date night, apps, snacks and drinks!

We had a company dinner here and all I can say is that the food and service were outstanding!!! The seafood was fresh and flavorful, perfectly seared scallops, the pasta and skirt steak were great, the dessert was light and full of flavor. And of course the cocktails were killer! Will definitely be back! 💯

We snuck in to this gem 💎 of a restaurant in the middle of a downpour. We sat outside and they dropped a plastic garage door to protect us from the elements. First they brought out some delicious focaccia followed by a great anti pasto, we ordered the burrata. I was surprised by the peaches which gave a delicious contrast to the cheese🍑. After the appetizers I enjoyed the lamb chops and a Negroni Sbagliato. Great atmosphere, amazing supper, cool crowd and really chill vibe. The lemons everywhere where a nice touch 🍋

really cool private dining space we used for a corporate function about 60 people cocktail party. service was really good. I didn't get a chance to eat but the food looked great while it lasted. most of it was gone so that's a good sign. love the nautical decor -- classy not cheesy. great patio space outside during the warmer months.

Great place! Vibes are great, staff is extremely attentive, nice, and professional. The food taste is amazing; however, the portion sizes are small! I gave it a 4 for this reason + I feel that for its price range, you have some good competing choices! Overall though, had a great experience

Ambiance was the best part about Porto. Food was generally good (though portions for the scallops were too small to justify the hefty price). Would skip the scallops for the lobster rolls or the pasta dishes. We got an outdoor table and it was starting to drizzle, but although the table was starting to get wet they didn't pull the awning over the area. Service was generally attentive, but our server forgot to ring in one item that we ordered. Would consider returning, but also would recommend other seafood restaurants in the area.

Made a last minute reservation for a quick bite at Porto and definitely did not regret it. I ordered the BURRATA (bagna cauda, sicilian anchovies, clementine and meyer lemon marmalade, garlic toast). Everything in this plate falls together so perfectly that it was enough to make me full for the night. The hostess and server were very very hospitable and made me feel at home. I really respect their kind gestures because I dined at a time when the restaurant was very packed, but the staff still took good care of all the guests.

One of the best fine Italian dining in the Back Bay. Enjoyed the vibes and atmosphere, and the servers were really nice!

An excellent service by our server, Ken. The Pulpo was a total surprise. Never had octopus with enjoyable texture. Tender, not springy. The mushroom pasta was incredible, well seasoned, with multiple stages/facets of flavor. The tuna tartare was the best we’ve ever had. Overall, the best dining experience we’ve had in a very, very long time.

Great food. The grilled octopus as a starter was amazing and probably best I’ve had in a long time. The service and atmosphere was fantastic as well and couldn’t recommend enough.

We had a really nice experience at Porto. The beef and pork meatballs were solid. The eggplant fries were not too heavy and had a really nice emphasis on the dill and yogurt dipping sauce. The baked feta was a hit with everyone and the halibut also a star. The octopus was really well executed: very tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside, perhaps cooked sous vide and finished in the salamander, served with a romesco sauce. The vegetable paella was also well executed and presented and fed 3 people more than adequately. The sundae dessert had very nice ice creams but I have to say that the chocolate froze into the sides of the glass and made it difficult to chip off the final bits (you want to get all of it). Service was great: prompt, attentive and courteous. There are a lot of reviews who wine about the prices? Seriously? The prices were completely reasonable given the quality of the dishes. Worth the visit.
