Great dive bar that feels so homey. Perfect mix of reasonably priced drinks, quality appetizers, tasty food, friendly staff, and not too much seating to where it almost feels exclusive. Definitely a gem of South End. 10/10 would recommend!

I've got this pasta in my top 3 Italian cuisine experiences of all time, and I travel all over the country eating Italian food. Very surprising too as it appeared to just be a basic bar w bar food. I'll be back in Boston in a week and I can't wait to come here again.
The downside at Anchovies is that they don't take reservations and the wait can be long, and there's very little room to actually wait inside. Super down to earth and attentive bartenders. Great menu of comfort Italian food with vegetarian options. Laid back and comfy atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I came here to get dinner as it was close to our Airbnb and it was nice! It has a grunge dive bar feel and the booths are old and a little sticky, not too many vegetarian options but the staff are friendly and the drinks are great! We had a good time.

Party of five came here on the first night in Boston. Three of the five of us enjoyed our dinner. Ost disliked dish was the Chicken Piccanta. Its a small place where five adults had to squeeze into a booth for four.
