I think we had everything on the menu that accommodated my allergies. I could complain about the fried rice that was salty or The okra listed as spicy okra that was not spicy, but the okra had great flavor, the crab was amazing and we could have eaten another bowl or two of clams as they were that fresh and flavorful. Oh yea, the okra may not have been spicy but there was plenty of spice to be found elsewhere all over the menu. To top it all the service may have been the best I have had in months. Tiger Mama is fun, flavorful and the place to go in Boston for Thai!
Great breakfast. Food is exceptional and service was similar. Don’t pass this one up. We will go back for dinner.
Sit at bar. JM is the best bartender in the city. Dilly dilly.
Outstanding service, delectable duck for two and we can't wait to go again. Exceptional dining experience, and the Foursquare Premise rum is fantastic. Highly recommend.
We went to Tiger mama with a small group and we were all delighted with the food and the service. The food was so fresh and so flavorful different than any Asian food we've ever had before, outstanding!
The street noodles and the brussel sprouts were my top two but everything else was also delicious!
Love, love, love your restaurant. Ate there last night for the 1st time. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Our server recommended the octopus and it was great. Braised short rib, WOW! King crab fried rice, totally decadent and delicious. Lobster spring roll was very good, and the Mai Tai's were very delicious. Thank you Tiger Mama for a great meal!
Fantastic all around...some dishes can be a bit salty, but ask your server b4 hand to limit or go lite andyou will be golden
Lovely pan Asian hot spot in #Fenway neighborhood. Delicious cocktails & food were only outdone by the terrific service thanks to our outstanding waiter Evans. Kudos to Chef Tiffani Faison
Great place, loved the ambiance! Especially loved the gluten free selections on their menu! And as a Celiac I appreciate establishments that understand our challenges when eating out and their desire to accommodate us!
This place was awesome! Everything we ate was delicious. Highly recommend. There wasn’t one thing we didn’t like. It’s sort of like tapas but some dishes are bigger some are smaller - It’s definitely on the pricer side if you order several dishes so keep that in mind. Our server was genuinely helpful - helped us choose what drinks and meals would be best for us and he took the time to make sure we were happy. The atmosphere was fun as well.
We had an absolutely amazing time. We arrived before our reservation, but the bar staff kept us entertained and whipped up some tasty drinks. We enjoyed a wide assortment of dishes, the service was warm and welcoming, and we left without a single complaint.
Cool ambiance and nice dinner at Tiger Mama!
The staff recommend ~2 plates per person and we had more than enough food! (took home leftovers)
Highly recommend the gai tod “crispy chicken nuggies” these were spicy and delicious!
The duck spring rolls were crispy and flavorful.
The pork shank was good but I wish it was a little more tender.
The street noodles looked so good but I was slightly underwhelmed and expected more flavor.
I really enjoyed the da nang cocktail but the kongo bongo was heavy on the crushed ice.
If I were to come back I would come with a group of 3+ because the tables for 2 were very close together.
Tiger Mama has tons of tasty food to dive into. Grab a group of friends and share a bunch of plates. Make sure to get some coconut rice and literally anything else on the menu. They also have vegan and nut free menus! Just a tad pricey. Staff was attentive and professional. Check it out!
Went for my partner's birthday, and it was incredible! Our server was on point with every single thing. The drinks were good, the wine choices were excellent, and when it came to dinner our server even helped with what we wanted and in what order. The mapo tofu was incredible, as was every other dish, especially the eggplant, and the dessert "Strawberry Feels Forever". Really wonderful restaurant, and I can't wait to go back!
Aside from the cafeteria style acoustics from the crowd the lighting and atmosphere was very interesting (9:00 on a Sunday night). Above average food. Not sure the value in portion or taste was quite there for the price but overall a good experience and atmosphere made up for anything lacking in that area. If you're looking for pure Thai food you may want to try one of the other few Thai places within a half mile radius. Would visit again.
Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the food and drinks were delicious. We were there as a group of six and had a wonderful dinner experience. Will definitely be back. Thank you!
The atmosphere and the complex flavors of each dish were excellent. The dishes were surprisingly filling - just two fed my sister and me fully.
Watch out for the mushroom dish; while it’s flavors were amazing, it was much spicier than we expected. My sister was not able to eat more than a few bites.
I love this spot! I’ve been for dinner and also sat at the bar for drinks and enjoyed both experiences here. The cocktails are delicious and so is the food. We had the crispy chili potatoes which was very good, the pad ga prow which was spicy and delicious with rice, and the turmeric shrimp with peanuts. The atmosphere is also fun, a great place to go with friends.
Great spot near Fenway. Interesting cocktails, lots of fun sharing plates (loves the coconut shrimp and beats) and great service. Definitely worth a visit!
Yum. The food was amazing. Even the jasmine rice tasted much better than usual. We had a feast with eight people and a dozen dishes. The service was great too. The table had a lazy Susan which makes any sharing dinner more fun. Tons of vegan options. Great lighting. Fun beverage list. An entire separate vegan menu in fact. I kept thinking through the entire meal that I wish Miami had a restaurant of this caliber.
DINNER REVIEW
So confused how this place only has 3.5 stars (as of 4/7/19) because we had what I would regard as a 5 star dining experience.
WAIT: We made a reservation for 7:30 and got there right on time and were seated only a few minutes after. For walk-ins, they were saying it would be an hour and a half wait so if you want to come here, best to try and make a reservation.
SETTING: The restaurant has some eclectic wall decor, including a wall lined with faux-leaves and a red neon sign that reads "TALK DON'T COOK RICE" which really didn't make sense to me (maybe I'm missing something). Usually neon signs say something that people want to take a picture in front of...not this one.
BAR + DRINKS: I usually don't comment on bars at restaurants as I usually don't spend much time at them (not a huge drinker over here) but this one was really cool with interesting lighting and had a Southeast Asian/Tiki vibe. I had the El Tio which came in a tall glass with mint and I would definitely recommend it.
They also have a lot of specialty large drinks which you can order for larger groups. One is called the Galleon which comes in a pirate ship and they play the song from Pirates of the Carribean as they bring it out. You have to have at least 6 people to order it (how responsible of them). A fun group of 20-somethings ordered this while we were there and it was fun to at least be a part of their Galleon experience.
SERVICE: Our waitress was so friendly and gave amazing recommendations for the food below.
FOOD: The food is what earned this place 5 stars which is how it should be. We could have ordered so many things on the menu but everything we had we loved. I guess it just warrants another trip back. Below is what we ordered, ranked in order of our favorites.
Brown Butter Laksa - ironically, this is the dish we almost didn't consider getting as my mom (who I came with) doesn't like fishy fish so she had her concerns but the waitress (rightfully) assured us that it wasn't fishy and she was right. This fish was tender and fell apart in the warm curry which we ate every last drop of. I would recommend getting a side of rice to soak up all the goodness.
Crispy Pork Ribs - dang, these ribs were perfectly spicy and came in a charred ginger chili sauce which I also poured over rice. They were crispy on the outside but had a good amount of meat on the bone.
Coconut Chili Shrimp - I wish we got extra orders of these...these shrimp were crisped up by the coconut coating and the chili garlic glaze gave it a nice spiciness.
Seasonal Greens - These greens were cooked down and slightly on the vinegary side (which I like). They provided a nice healthy/lighter balance to the heaviness of everything else we were eating.
Lamb Roti - something had to be at the bottom but these were still delicious. This should be a testament to how good everything was. Think of roti like a quesadilla but this was filled with braised lamb and mint cilantro jam...it was my jam.
I will definitely be back to Tiger Mama. I hear they have really good brunch so I want to try that out!
Great small plates to share. Fresh ingredients put together in a unique style. Great cocktails, two bars. Isn't terribly cozy and sort of feels like going into a frat house. Great service.
Pro tip: when you're at the tiki bar, ask for a fun mug like a tiki man or a duck! 🦆🗿
Very cool place, setteled in the heart of a very lively downtown area. The street noodles we're by far the best thing I had, but the pork toro is also well worth trying. I personally wasn't a fan of the pad gra pow, not because of the spice, but because it was extremely basil heavy. So if you're not a big fan of licorice, or star anise flavors, I'd rethink your choice.
The drinks were really good albeit a bit overpriced.
Tiger Mama serves small dishes of excellent South Asian food. 2 or 3 dishes are sufficient for a substantial meal. The food is very tasty well prepared.
They do serve deserts but oddly enough no coffee or tea.
Amazing. Unexpected surprise today as we just happened inside while wandering town after a ballgame. Service starts at 5 and we had drinks at the bar prior. The bartenders are entertaining and mix up unique delicious drinks. Dinner was spectacular. The waiter was superb. He described the dishes, gave advice on ordering and was very attentive. The food was unique and delicious. Family style with the lazy susan was a fun way to eat. The shrimp were fantastic and try the mushrooms if you like spicy!
A good place with nice ambience. Food is really good and tasty. Ask about the food and drinks before you order. Your taste buds may not accept some of it!. Its a really costly Palace and the quantity of the food is really low. Not food for a party kind of dining.
