Review Granary Tavern - Boston

Morgan Hurley
Food was tasty, and really had something for everyone given there was a vegetarian in our group. The only complaint was the service could have been better since the waiter did not check on us at all until it was time to pay. But other than that it was delicious and perfect for what we were looking for

Probably one of my favorites restaurants I've ever been since I moved to Massachusetts. We went 2 times in just 1 week after spending the day in Boston. I highly recommend the pow pow Shrimp as appetizer and the main dish the Steak with fries and arugula. They served all the food at once under 15min, the waitresses are fast and friendly.

Great place to stop after a boat trip or touring the aquarium. Had probably the best lobster roll of my life. Paired with fries and a cold beer, heaven on a hot day!

Very interested and great style. It is very upbeat and has great customer service. Food was remarkable, and I recommend this spot. Thank you.

On a hot humid Boston Sunday this place was an oasis after a trip to the aquarium which this lovely place is right across from. Air conditioned with great tavern atmosphere, its fantastic for people watching along with the phenomenal food. Definitely felt like we got our bang for our buck!

Fantastic seafood. Great atmosphere. Right on Milk Street and a small walk away from Quincy Market. I definitely recommend the lobster flatbread pizza 👍🏼

The food was good here. Being a vegetarian I had very few options to choose from . The food , atmosphere and service was top notch. I would recommend this place

Yummy food. Lobster appetizers was great. Beer was cold. What more !

Good place close to the aquarium! Solid place for a beer and lunch! I had the fish and chips with the flatbread and the daily soup. The soup was a sausage stew and it was fantastic! The fish and chips were fresh and the fries seasoned to perfection!

Seriously…the best Clam Chowder I have ever had in my 61 years on Earth. Salad was super fresh, fish and chips were delicious and drinks were cold and fresh! Wonderful setting wonderful service!

We stopped in for a drink after dinner. Atmosphere was really nice. The bartender was not very friendly or helpful, a bit rude. It was close to kitchen closing but we only wanted drinks. Rest of staff was fine but a bit disorganized at the end of the night. Might try again to sit and eat

Our party of four greatly enjoyed our breakfast. Food was hot, plentiful and tasted great. Was quiet and service was good and we never saw the bottom of our coffee cups! Will be back!

Fish and chips were great, although a little light on the amount of fish. Creme brulee was very good. Pretty good beer selection for the type of restaurant. Good option in the neighborhood, good service.

Hosted a corporate event here & everyone was amazing & attentive. They were extremely accommodating when we had additional guests show up last minute & needed to order additional trays of food! I highly recommend for company/customer events.

We visited Granary Tavern during our visit to Boston and we absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere is wonderful. You get a cozy, classy pub feel, with great staff. It’s casual enough but can be a perfect date night spot. Amy was our server and right off the bat she was AMAZING! I have celiac and she was not only very cautious with my meal, but she made me a list of everything that was safe for me to eat. She was attentive and kept the drinks coming. The food was perfect. The burger was up there for me on some of the best burgers I’ve recently eaten. It’s good quality meat and it was flavorful. Everyone raved about the fish and chips. My mother in law had the onion soup and chicken tenders. She said was it was delicious. It was an overall great experience and I look forward to coming back. Thank you Amy and Granary Tavern.

Was ok. We waited about 8 minutes for a table. The host asked us if we had reservations and we said no. There were about 6 open tables in the place as well as two outside. Not a big deal. Waitress was nice. Drink selection looked okay. The food left a little to be desired. My daughter got the child pasta. It's a bowl of elbow macaroni. For $8. I got a chicken salad sandwich for $12. It was supposed to be some kind of fancy chicken salad, but it was just chicken salad. Wife got the watermelon salad. That seemed to be pretty good. Overall, three meals with no alcohol was over $42. One of which was a child's menu item. The food itself was pretty bland nothing spectacular. I don't think we we'll go here again except if it's for just drinks.

The first time I went to this restaurant. It was me and s buddy and we got some seats at the bars. The bartenders were really right on the bell to greet us and get our drinks. The garlic chips and ranch dipping sauce is amazing. The staff is great and such a great place to just hang out watch a game and chill with friends. I always go there for apps and drinks. Good place in Boston to go to.

Just stopped in for drinks in our way to the North End and boy were we glad we did. Mule #2 was amazingand they have a nice beer, wine and spirits list. We also ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower, it is fantastic. We will be sure to stop in again for a full meal and will definitely be adding it to the go to list for when we are in Boston. Also contrary to some other reviews the service was too notch.

Nice place had fish and chips. Fish was good but small portion and the fries were teeny tiny little things. The wait staff was excellent

Great place to eat or just have a drink. The ambience is comfortable and pristine. The food is very good and the waitstaff is professional and personable. I would recommend it to my friends.

Do not order chicken, I got some on my unremarkable Cesar salad. 1st chewed into a granular paste soooo dry. Knew it was a half of a half breast sliced longways. Makes plate look better as the meat looks longer. It was old and cold . Second was rinse and repeat. 3rd was fresh breast, cooked, again too long with no seasoning. Again chewed into a dry paste ball you have to spit out. If they would marinate the meat and stop being such cheapskates, give the chef a chance to cook a real breast. I can get fat plump breast for $1.49 a pound, fillet it to be 3 ... breasts and charge $5 extra. This is what was done here, EXCEPT your chef didn’t know what she was doing. Y’all deserve to have your ratings. Barman and waiter was great. Such a shame the kitchen can’t cook. Never tried seafood, might be good at that!!! It’s a crapshoot

Took the wife for dinner, other than not being able to get a dish off the dinner menu 20 minutes before the dinner service started. and, my wife was followed to the table by the YOUNG female Matridee like she was a homeless person asking her if she had a reservation. We had a nice time our waitress was wonderful, our Food and Drinks came fast an consistantly. Taking her back in 2 weeks to get her Chicken and waffles. Hopefully my wife won't be followed around again.

Food is great. Staff are very attentive and professional. Management definitely care and the decor is beautiful. Probably the best patio is Boston. 5 stars!

Good energy, nice decor, high sealings, not too crammed up. good portions of well done meals. I had chiecken nuggets and arugula salad with glass of rose. My sensitive stomach was happy)). No side effects. Why 4 stars? The waiter set us at a very nice window table, but after short while another waiter came by and said this is reserved and we have to finish in less that 1 hour 😳🙄😬. So we were reseated at the tall table, nice but less comfy

We've been there once before, I remember it being good. Last night, not great. My Chicken Statler was dry as a bone. The cocktails were tiny. It's a great location but unfortunately we won't be going back. Sorry.

$13 for one piece of waffle and 3 pieces of bacon. The $16 bolognese is more like jarred Ragu, with clumped up barely cooked pasta. The Guinness is $7 for a half pint.

Great place to entertain. Innovative menu and great, hip space.

Da provare assolutamente...per chi è a Boston un pub fantastico dove provare diversi tipi di carne sandwich e altro ancora.

Welcoming place for a quick biz dinner while traveling. Lobster ravioli was delish and their version of Sangria hit the spot! Well done ✅
