Who doesn’t wanna visit a restaurant located in a jail turned hotel? This restaurant is located in the 2nd floor of liberty hotel . When we went there, we were able to experience the live band and rub shoulders with the upper echelons in suits.
The service here was fast and pleasant, our server had such a great energy I thought he had just found Jesus.
The bread was fresh out of the oven, it was so soft and chewy inside and crispy outside. The appetizer we got was tuna tartare $29 with prawn chips. It was so fresh, seasoned in the sour citrusy ponzu sauce, sitting on a bed of avocado.
The blood orange glazed duck $44 had a good amount of duck leg, the orange and foie gras sauce gave it an umami flavor. The skin could be crispier though. The sauce was not seasoned well, some parts were more salty than others.
The bolognese $38 was wayyy too salty, omg, even the burrata could not save how botched this dish was.

Great atmosphere (prefer this to Alibi). As expected the cocktails are themed to incarceration. Great service, we were sitting in the lobby areas (great for people watching). Had a couple of drinks so ordered some appetizers, sweet potato fries (which was much larger than we expected).

Overall, I had a good meal here. It’s pretty expensive because it’s at a hotel but the quality of the food is 4/5. The ambience is cool because the hotel used to be a jail. I ordered the smoked salmon, which was excellent! They definitely did not skimp out. We did not love the French toast, however. I’d give a 3.5 if I could—I probably won’t come back, but it’s a classic hotel breakfast.

Play It is a very unique Hotel At the quirkiness of the original building being a prison it got the refurbishment award. It is very well It is very well decorated And has a great charm Well keeping it in character of the prison using the terminology and stories about the jail some of the artwork.

The wait to be seated was prompt, ordering was smooth and breakfast was delivered quickly. The food was amazing! I highly recommend you dine here it was yummy! Pricing is high however the quality and amount of food received is worth it.

Dinner: Food was very good and priced as one might expect at a hotel (much higher than warranted but, again, to be expected). Service was very friendly but surprisingly slow for a Tuesday night.
Breakfast: good but again, so overpriced. $12 for a coffee?!? Especially when you're giving out free coffee in the lobby that comes from the same place?! Coffee was great though.

Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Start with their local farmer's cheese board. As a main course, center-cut sirloin steak. Delicious food and reasonable prices.

Lively atmosphere, always busy no matter what day of the week. Food is fantastic, service is great too. The history behind this hotel is incooperated throughout the whole hotel.

It's a beautiful hotel with such an interesting history. We only had one drink as it's quite pricey.

From arrival to departure, was a great stay. Valet parking was smooth and the staff who greeted us upon arrival was extremely friendly and helpful. I requested no check when my wife and her friend had dinner while I was at the Bruins game. Was done without incident. This is what service is about, make a request, and it gets done. I would definitely stay here again next time in Boston and recommend it to our friends.

Marco is a fantastic waiter, he made a great meal even better. Cocktail menu has some very innovative offerings. The lemongrass and carrot soup was excellent. Do not miss the bread pudding!

🍾drink: prosecco was ok.

While the allure of the location may seem exciting, be sure to review the menu and plan your parking before arriving. There are particularly limited options for those who are vegetarian or vegan. That being said, while the menu is seemingly very limited, our waiter said they could make whatever we wanted - so we all ordered things from off the menu & it turned out great. The fries are just okay. They also don’t have lettuce, so the burgers came with arugula. The service is 5-star, the limited menu is just something to make note of.

The whole hotel is so pretty and the history is so interesting that it used to be a prison. All the bars/restaurants and parts of the hotel have the jail cell bars. We just went for dessert, which was delicious and beautiful (and pricey). The chef clearly puts a lot of thought into her dishes.

Just recently had brunch here and I had the chicken thigh sandwich and the other diner had the burger. Both were expertly seasoned and the presentation and plating were perfection. Our entrees were followed by a passion fruit creme brûlée.
The dessert was absolutely delicious- light, and a perfect blend of flavors and plated beautifully The ambience was inventive and a blend of contemporary, steam punk and extravagant beauty and attention to detail. You must experience it. The wait between the entree and the dessert was quite a long time, but since we were on vacation and weren’t rushed , we just enjoyed the dining experience.
